What is going on here in Chico? What's with the cones in front of what used to be a friendly FBO in past years? We had to park our Baron quite a distance from the FBO office building to save room for jets (there weren't any), and it seemed almost like they didn't want us to go into the main FBO building. Whatever is going on here, it certainly is a change for the worse, compared to about a year ago.

I was in Chico on 4/24/08 to pick up a passenger for a trip to SJC. When I taxied in I had to park about 75 yards from the front of the building, why? They had a row of orange cones blocking the front of the building. I shut down on the outside of the cones and walked in to meet my passenger, I asked the girl working what is the deal with the cones. She said we reserve that spot for jets. In all my years at Chico (about 30) Chico just doesn’t get that many jets. I totally understand when we go to big airports and they park us out in the middle of nowhere. Northgate is going to upset all the people that pay their bills for that jet that they may never see again. More power to them.

My experience with Northgate has been very good. As a flight instructor in the area I frequently send students there for books and supplies. They do an excellent job keeping the things in stock that people really need. When I need fuel I get it promptly and with excellent service. The fuel personnel are always professional and courteous.

Excellent service here. Needed my brakes bled and fuel. Only took about 15 minutes and I was ready to launch. Probably the best experience I've ever had at an FBO.

Made a fuel stop here based on all the comments. Unfortunately all the friendly staff seemed to be on a day off, and the girl at the desk seemed annoyed with my presence as she trudged off to the fuel truck. Nonetheless the rates were ok and the facility is nicely equipped and has a great pilot room with computer & Internet etc. Easy in & out.

Good old-fashioned service by extremely helpful people. Needed no fuel, just rented a car for the day and received above average service from this FBO.

My wife and I were extremely pleased and impressed with Northgate Aviation in Chico. Their facility is modern and clean and complete flight planning, including Internet access, is available. This is a family owned business staffed by family members and every person to whom we talked was most pleasant and helpful. Northgate Aviation made our journey to Chico a most pleasant one and we highly recommend them.

This is a new FBO -- same building, but new interior, and new owners. I was very impressed with the level of service, and the customer friendly attitude of everyone there. How many times have you seen an owner behind the desk working with customers and employees alike. They sell service as a product, and it works -- great job, and we will be back.
