I can't say enough good things about Flightstar. I landed at CMI in a Sundowner on Friday night, was marshalled in and tied down immediately. The staff was very courteous, and the facilities were top-notch. All their fees were up front, and boy was I happy! No landing fee, no overnight tie-down fees (as opposed to a small fee for a hangar), and a simple $10 handling fee that could be waived with 10g fuel (though why someone would buy fuel at CMI, I can't say). It was cold, so I called Saturday night to ask them to plug in the plane Sunday morning before we left. When I got there, the plane had been moved to their hangar and plugged in since 5am! It's rare to see this kind of service - I will definitely be back and would recommend Flightstar to anyone!

Wow! I was just calling Gary to see what type of ground transportation services is available at KCMI. When I informed him of my itinerary, he quickly volunteered to research my options with prices. He didn't have to do this, and it is clearly to me an indication why Flightstar receives such rave reviews. Look forward to meeting you tomorrow, Gary. And, Thanks!!

First class reception. Didn't need fuel, but they still treated us very well. This as a compassion mission and we chose CMI for the hand-off. A very, very nice FBO with lots to offer.

A friend of mine and I were on a trip in 2 taildraggers and landed at Champaign due to deteriorating weather. The folks at Flightstar could not have been more supportive and welcoming. After a brief period on the ramp with skies growing ever darker, we tucked the two Cessna’s in their hangar. I offer Flightstar my heartfelt thanks and recommend them to all pilots. I think we bought a combined total of 11 gallons of avgas, yet they could not have treated us better or made us feel more welcome. We used their excellent facilities (including the pilots' exercise room), borrowed their crew car twice, relied on their hotel arrangements and had the benefit of their hangar to protect the airplanes from the storms. They were there at every turn to help us with every request including moving the airplanes around. We were not treated better anywhere on the trip which included 9 days and almost 20 airports.

Top Notch facility with good service, definitely in my top 10 FBO's for a corporate/charter pilot who is tethered to the airport.

Visited CMI and stopped at FlightStar FBO. Met and directed out front very quickly, and Samantha and her staff were friendly and very helpful in providing a crew car for 2 hours. First time in and out of CMI, and ground control was also friendly and helpful during taxi and takeoff.

This FBO was quite a surprise to me. The pilot lounge has very comfortable couches with HDTV. Beverages are complimentary for the pilots. Of course there is a nice flight planning area as well. However, there is also a snooze room with bed, a well equipped gym and shower. On an all day layover, it's nice to have these amenities. The University of IL campus is only a short drive and quite nice.

I flew in a few days ago in a 172. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My only gripe is that fuel prices seem out of whack--the disparity between 100LL and JET-A seems very odd, especially when you consider other prices in the area. I know that you have to pay for service, but it was cheaper for me to pay the ramp fee than the differential for 10 gals of fuel (compared to my home airport in the Chicago area).

Flew into CMI on a cold snowy day for a 3-day stay. I knew I would need the aircraft deiced and preheated for departure when I left. I was greeted by a very friendly and courteous staff that offered me a heated hangar at a very reasonable price. When I was ready to leave they quickly retrieved my aircraft. Would recommend them highly.

A student and I flew down to CMI in a bucket of bolts '79 Seminole, and didn't require any gas or services. Flightstar allowed us to relax for a few minutes before we were heading back (they have cappucino and biscotti). We had major problems getting the plane started up and line guys at Flighstar (Matt, Jeff, etc.) were extremely patient and helpful in charging the battery up, and getting us flying again. I highly recommend Flightstar to anyone looking for a halfway stop on a long trip!
