Landed at Merrit Island enroute to St. Augustine for a restaurant stop. A quick look at the radar screen upon arrival revealed that we either have to leave instantaneously or stay there the rest of the day. So we took off within 15 minutes. The friendly lady at the office did not only waive the ramp fee (we couldn't hardly buy any fuel since we've used only about 6 gal since our last fuel stop), but also had a mechanic have a look at a minor oil leak which turned out to be insignificant. We'll definitely go there again.

Flew in to the airport to say hello to a friend. We self parked two small experimentals in front of the FBO (Space Coast Aviation). On the ground less than 30 minutes and both planes were charged a mandatory $15 ramp fee. This will be my last flight to Merritt Island until the FBO changes their ramp fee policy.
Response from Lisa Brown, Marketing Rep, Space Coast Aviation In the spirit of seeing you again at Merritt Island we would like to offer you a FULL refund of your $15. The 'ramp fee' is for transient aircraft and is waived for a 10 gallon fuel purchase details are posted on the website www.flyspacecoast.com. We operate a fully staffed FBO facility and try to encourage customer support with the purchase of fuel. Sorry for your disappointment and hope to see you again at Merritt Island

I flew in today to attend a 1-hour meeting in Cocoa Beach. I called prior to flying in and was told that a crew car would be available for me to use, or that they would be able to shuttle me to the meeting which was located 8 miles away. Upon my arrival, I was dismayed to find out that the crew car could only be taken for 30 minutes, and that there was no shuttle. Luckily one of the line guys volunteered to take me to the meeting, and I was able to call on another line guy to give me a ride back. I was told that there are new owners to the FBO, and that policies have changed that some might not have been aware of. The line guys saved the day though. No ramp charge for a C210, but I would have gladly paid one to have a slightly more liberal crew car policy. I was even going to rent a car, but none were available.
