I use CXY for my commute about once a month or so. The FBO continues to improve. Kudos to the management for the Hershey bars and waiving the landing fee with a fuel purchase, and kudos to the rest of the staff for consistently fast, friendly and professional service. This has become the best way in and out of Harrisburg - the Airport Authority's (still excessive) $10 landing fee still beats the Harrisburg Parking Authority's even more excessive prices if you spend more than 5 hours with your car parked in one of their facilities. Land here and take the bus (less than $4 round trip to downtown).

FEES. Landing fees $10. Overnight Ramp $8. Pre-heat fee in hangar to melt ice $20. Landing fee waived with fuel. Friendly folks.Response from Todd F. Smith, General Manager, CXY Aviation Mr. Stewart, the landing and over night fees are from the municipal authority. When we waive these fees for fuel, they are still paid by us. Also, it costs a boatload of money to heat a hangar and likewise it costs money to have line service provide access to that service. I believe that when you analyze these facts with our extremely low prices for fuel you will see that compared to $500 ramp fees around the area we are being more than generous. Having said that, I am happy that you found my staff friendly and accommodating. Thanks for your comments and please call me if you have anything further to discuss.

Stopped in today to see our daughter. In the past we had avoided KCXY for reasons you see in the older posts. We were here a month or two ago and they had great service, good gas prices and no fees but I thought maybe it was just a good day. I am pleased to say this is a new CXY. We had great service for our Cardinal and a great stop. We'll be back.

I enjoyed the stop I made here last week. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had discontinued the ramp fee. In the past we had we had to pay a ramp fee regardless of the fuel we purchased. From now on I will plan on buying some fuel at CXY Aviation.

Flew in for FAA seminar. Had to stay late to wait for weather to pass, line attendant was very accommodating and helpful. I know this FBO has changed hands recently, but hopefully this is a good sign of improvements in the future. Would not hesitate to go back.Response from Todd F. Smith, General Manager, CXY Aviation Thanks Marc. That was one heck of a storm. I am glad we were there to help you through it. Come back and see us soon.

The new owners have eliminated the landing fee and the ramp fee. I flew in and out and did not buy fuel and was charged nothing!!! Yeah. I will return to this airport and buy fuel and other stuff. I also love their pilot lounge if you need to take a nap. A billion lazy-boys in a dark room. Heaven.Response from Todd F. Smith, General Manager, CXY Aviation Greetings to all my fellow pilots! I would like to introduce myself, my name is Todd Smith and I recently assumed the duties of general manager for CXY Aviation. I am very excited about the future of YOUR airport and YOUR FBO. CXY Aviation has come a long way since what I call the "trying times" of 2007-2009. You will find that we are not hiding any fees (however, there is a nominal mandated SARAA landing fee), our rent is in keeping with the economic times and we will always be here to meet your needs and exceed your expectations. In addition, I greatly appreciate all of your thoughtful comments here at AirNav and likewise your constructive criticism of CXY Aviation. Please stop by and say "hi", my door is always open to your recommendations.

Stopped in last week on an Angel Flight. Service was great and office staff was very helpful. The facility is very nice. They also have a nice eating/vending area and an excellent flight planning room. It's obvious that a lot of care has been taken to provide the best experience possible for crews and passengers.

Used this FBO twice over the Thanksgiving holiday. Service was prompt and courteous. Oma was very helpful during my first visit to this airport and FBO. The fuel cost was somewhat high and I was charged a $10 ramp fee even thought I bought fuel on my second arrival but I would definitely use them again. My passengers were impressed by the gift of a candy bar.

CXY Aviation appears to be a work in progress. Service was okay but less than outstanding for the prices. Examples: 100LL - $4.94. $8 per day tiedown fee whether you buy fuel or not – and you have to find your own spot and tie it down yourself. There is no maintenance service at CXY Aviation. Fortunately, Wings N Things, also at KCXY, does good work.

Landed here with a dead alternator on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend. The FBO called over the mechanic, who scheduled work on my Mooney first thing when they opened. Waived my overnight charges and airport fee for having work done. Overall, helpful, accommodating, and a good experience.

Great to be back! Excellent customer service from all personnel. Nice fuel discount at present time for 200+ gallon purchase of JET-A. Good to see the changes being made in the lounge, office, and flight shop. We will return as needed during the year.

Flew in on April 12th for a few hours. We had great service from Alma, as usual. She was very accommodating, allowing us to use the crew car for a few hours and helped coordinate an earlier than planned departure. CXY Aviation provides exceptional service, whether you are a corporate jet or private light airplane. Will definitely return!

Wow--things certainly changed for the better. No longer does the FBO sneak in a $25 service fee when you stop and purchase fuel. They now seem to be single engine friendly but sure to ask for your welcoming candy bar. I'll now come back often. They are trying to get the lost business back from the former FBO-- best of luck!

For those looking for an easy and inexpensive way to get into the city, the Harrisburg City bus service (CAT) stops in front of the old terminal building several times a day. The one-way fare to downtown is $1.65, and the trip is about 20 minutes.

I flew into CXY with a tight schedule and a meeting in downtown Harrisburg. The receptionist was very kind, gave me the keys to the crew car and even printed out a quick map for me to get to my meeting. Upon my return, I needed to ask for a jump because the cold weather killed my battery from Florida...And the line help was excellent. The place is under new management I'm told and business is just starting to pick up there. I was the only plane on the ramp but I love that it's 5 minutes closer to Harrisburg and that they are so friendly and helpful. I'll be back and recommend it to anyone with a meeting downtown.

While checking out and paying my bill, I was next to a pilot who got huffy about the landing fee. Guys (and gals): it's not their fee! Service was terrific, and price was actually lower than my home base flying club.

Got a chance to talk with one of the managers today - the $10 landing fee is not usually waived with a fuel purchase anymore. It should be understood though, it's not CXY Aviation's fee - it's the Airport Authority's. This is STILL a MUCH better operation than it's predecessor, and I will continue to use the airport. That said, CXY did talk themselves out of a fuel purchase today. I don't know if the would have made the $10 on what would have been a fairly small purchase or not, but when fuel's $.20 cheaper at home, that's where I'm buying it.

A second trip to KCXY and the rental auto was waiting and they topped off the tanks for our 9-27 departure. We will be a regular customer to this FBO and have enjoyed any discounts they may provide for overnite accomodations and other services. Alma was able to spot a small discrepancy in our billing statement and had it corrected while the luggage was loaded. A great FBO, that like all others in the USA has to make a profit, but still remains competitive for the General Aviation Public it serves.

I was there to look at a plane at AMS ~AND~ I filled my tanks.. I got whacked with a $10 landing fee! I could have just left after looking at the plane, but I thought I'd be courteous and give the FBO & town (taxes) some business too. No good deed left unpunished.

I flew into CXY with a church VIP on 13SEP2009. I'm very pleased with the new management. They're very friendly and they've gotten rid of the nuisance fees that for a while made people avoid this lovely airport. (There used to be a $15 ramp fee and a $25 fee if you walked in the door.) There still is a $10 airport landing fee from the airport itself, waived for some humanitarian flights. CXY Aviation is also restarting flight instruction.

Arrived late (after 9PM closing), but they had rental auto with keys in front of the office. Got on our way with information on what gate to egress the ramp and head to the recommended Holiday Inn. Came back during daylight hours and Alma assisted with further fueling, etc for return trip. Great people, great service, great facility! We shall return to a quality service oriented facility.

What a difference! The new FBO & its employees are GREAT! Flew there in a Skymaster was treated like I came in a corporate jet. Judy & Liz behind the desk we not just the normal friendly but truly enjoyable, fun & professional. They went out of the way to make sure we had everything we needed & when I forgot something they searched the airport up & down until it was recovered. It was truly an enjoyable experience & I will definitely be going back soon. Would also like to add the controllers were terrific & worked with you, thanks guys!

It's true! It has once again become reasonable to visit Capital City Airport. New management seems to still be working out whether or not to waive the landing fee with fuel purchase (they waived it for me), but even with the $10 fee, CXY Aviation is a VAST improvement over the previous FBO.

CXY Aviation has replaced UFS-Aero. Fuel prices and hangar rents are said to have been brought back to competitive rates. Ramp fees have been eliminated, but the $10.00 landing fee is not waived if you buy fuel or get maintenance. New T hangars are being built, and a flight school is said to be opening in the near future. Hopefully these changes will bring folks back to CXY. It has a nice location, facilities, and approaches.
