Flew in yesterday in a C421 to drop off some passengers and a quick turn. I couldn't find anyone at the field and there is no self serve with a credit card machine. After about 10 minutes, someone showed up and it was Ernesto Martinez, the airport manager. He fuel up my airplane and didn't charge me because I would be back the next day and if I waited until then, I'd get an even better rate on fuel. Mr. Martinez then drove me to and then picked me up the following morning from the Texan Inn, which he recommended. Really great laid back Texas service. I was very pleased with everything! Thanks Mr. Martinez!

About as laid back a country airport as you'll find. Flew in and stayed at the new Texan Inn. Caught a ride with a guy fixing up a hangar. Nice little pilot's weather station. Had restrooms. Several eating joints in town.

Flight date 9-6-08. The posted price on AirNav for AvGas was 5.75. I called airport to confirm, which they did. When I left the airport on a Sunday morning, I had to use their honor system self-service (no credit card reader) for top-off, since no one was at the airport. I left a blank credit card charge with my credit card #, expecting them to honor their own honor system. The charge came through at $6.35/ gallon. I called Dimmit County and talked to person in charge of the airport. He gave me some answer about the high cost of fuel - basically a runaround, then we were "disconnected", or he hung up on me. I didn't call him back because I could tell that he was't going to take ownership of the situation. Another $20 down the drain.
