Flew in there tonight for a Tigers game. Received the red carpet treatment, and the guys were extremely courteous, professional and helpful. I was actually able to joke around with them, which made it an excellent experience.

Flew into DET on 4/18/12. Mike was very helpful with parking and calling a car service to take us downtown. He also recommended a great barbeque restaurant downtown. Redsmoke Barbeque ribs were the best I have ever eaten; great recommendation. All of the Avflight staff was very helpful on this trip.

The gang at Avflight was superb. Flew in for a two-day stay. I had ordered a Hertz rental car, but I had given Hertz the wrong airport. The Avflight staff saw my arrival info, then checked and saw the car was at a different airport and called Hertz. The local Hertz office immediately sent over another car with someone to fill out the paperwork, and they were standing at the desk when I walked in from the airplane! The staff treated us extremely well. Received the airplane professionally, brought the rental car out to the plane on arrival and took it back when we departed. Many thanks to Carlotta, Carl, Janet and Howard! A nice airport close to downtown activities and Grosse Pointe. A great experience!

What a neat FBO! Avflight is located in the old DET terminal. Lisa L. gave us a lot of neat facts about the old facility and let us look around abandoned gate areas etc. Great service! The manager even took my partner to the "original" terminal to look around. Special mention to line staff Mike and Dave who took great care of us as well. I was hesitant to use DET due to the part of town, but Lisa and her staff really made us feel welcome! Thank you!!

It was a dark and stormy night. Well, not exactly; but it was a grey, overcast, drizzly afternoon until we got to Avflight and met Lisa. Her positive attitude was contagious. Her upbeat approach to helping us complete our work, and her zest and enthusiasm toward her job dispelled the gloom of the local weather. Things don't always go one's way, but one can do far worse than emulate Lisa's attack on daily challenges. I look forward to returning to Avflight/DET. Thanks for a wonderful transition.

Always a joy to stop in at AVFLIGHT DET. We had another great stop the other day with the help of Mike and Lisa, who always have a smile on their faces. In the midst of a busy morning Mike and Lisa got us fueled and turned back out while helping other crews and passengers, which is always appreciated especially when snow is approaching.

Flew in for the night in February and couldn't have asked for any better service. They took care of setting up the rental car with Enterprise and it was waiting right outside. Couldn't believe they are staffed 24/7. Traffic was very light when we were there. Asked for full fuel and they were more than happy to run an extension cord out to the ramp for our engine block heater a couple hours before taking off into the night. Tower gave us our clearance in just a couple of minutes and we were out of there in no time. Will return to Avflight anytime we are in the area.

Excellent service and support by Lisa and Mike. We flew in for a 3 day stay trusting that they would find our crew a place to stay and they didn't let us down. We got a rental car and 2 great rooms at the Greektown Casino and Hotel and most important, Lisa talked the hotel into letting us check in immediately... It was early and we were tired. Thanks Lisa... And Mike knows everything about the places to eat. "What a team!"

Carl, Dave and Carlotta were amazing on our last trip to DET. They all went above and beyond when the taxi for our customer didn’t show. Carl personally drove our pax downtown for their event and also brought them back to the airport when done. One of the best FBO's in the Midwest by far.

Arrived on December 2nd. Found the service people most accommodating. They were friendly and asked if they could get me some lunch while I was there. The manager got me a hamburger and didn't charge me anything. They had me a cab waiting when I arrived. Hope they keep up the good service.

We arrived on 12/8/2011 at DET AVFLIGHT for an overnight and want to thank Janet for arranging the hangar, and rides to and from the motel. The line crew did an excellent job moving the aircraft (C340) to and from the hangar, and Janet had the rental car ready when we arrived, etc, etc. Thanks for the good service.

Needed last minute fuel at 6:00 AM. Called Avflight and Mike answered the phone. Within 5 minutes Mike showed up and was fueling our aircraft, which allowed us to make our planned 6:30 AM departure. Great service from Mike and Avflight!

Excellent FBO and a must if landing in Detroit. Forget Metro when Coleman has Avflight. Excellent, prompt service. Courteous and knowledgeable front desk staff. Always a crew car pulled out by Mike Shockley himself. Believe the other comments - Mike is THE man here in Detroit. His tenure at Detroit City is measured in not weeks or years but decades. Bring the man a sandwich and you'll be first in line every time. Thanks for the hard work!

We are regular transient customers to AVFLIGHT. Since the latest transition from the previous FBO we have been very pleased with the professionalism of the linemen especially Mike. He always goes beyond his call of duty. Mike always greets us with a smile each time we arrive. None of our requests have ever been too large for any of the linemen to handle. We arrived Friday at DET in a Falcon 10. Mike was lineman on duty and quickly took care of all of our needs. I really like Mike’s positive attitude toward his job. Inside we met Lisa at the counter. As always she had a big smile on her face and an upbeat attitude. Both Lisa and Mike took time to introduce us to Sherman, the General Manager. He worked with us on our minimum fuel purchase, so that we could make our takeoff weight for the conditions that day. Since Avflight has been in operation at DET airport we have had nothing but good experiences with their staff and service. Two Thumbs Up!

I gave them 5 stars because of the quality of service, not the amenities at the FBO. If you are looking for a Signature, with cookies and coffee and a back rub, go elsewhere, but if you want a GREAT FBO with an AMAZING group of people working for them, go visit here!! We flew in this weekend (Labor Day 2011) and were greeted with very warm and friendly line personnel. We fueled our Cirrus and they towed my airplane to the transient hangar. The rate, at this time, is $65.00/night and after the thunderstorms moved through and trashed parts of the City that night, I was VERY thankful for the hangar. On our departure day, the lineman pulled the airplane out and had it ready and waiting, however weather was bad and we delayed, so after I called them, they put it back in the hangar until we arrived. Janet and Dave are just super people and awesome to work with!! If you are going to Detroit, make sure you visit Avflight!!

We arrived at KDET last evening, a hot, muggy summer night--and were greeted by Carl, after he laid out his red carpet for us to deplane. His smile harkens to the warmth and courtesy of a balmy Caribbean Island. He fetched our rental car and brought it planeside. Nothing we needed was too much for Carl! Carlotta had reserved our rental car with generous good care before we left home. She ensured it was on hand before we arrived. All good dispatch expedited us through check in, and she asked if we needed and then prepared clear directions to our hotel, most noteworthy of all are the easy beaming smiles. Both Carl and Carlotta their wonderful smiles letting you know how much they appreciate your arrival and use of their FBO. They deliver the best service we've received anywhere! Be sure you visit Dearborn and The Henry Ford adventure via Detroit City "Coleman Young Airport" (KDET). You'll delight in the service you receive.

Came in on a Sunday (very quiet) in my 310. Strange puling up to the "terminal" with the jetways still there (they haven't been used for 10 years, but there apparently are plans to do so again). Quick friendly service and convenient facilities. Picked up my passenger, turned right around and was off. Overall a very satisfactory experience.

The experience of landing my 414 at DET was great until they called up a week later demanding that I pay $90 in fees, $60 of which was for "handling" in which they did little or nothing and certainly did not move the plane. DET was convenient, and the line-crew friendly, but the posted price of the fuel is downright fraudulent without including the fees.
