Thanks much to Rhonda at DTMA and Matt from Fly-America in helping me get my airplane with flat tire safely into the hangar until it could be repaired. Also to Jeff at Fly-America for replacing the tire & tube as soon as he returned from his trip. Everyone so helpful and friendly to this low-time Sport-pilot having his first "emergency" away from home base. If you hadn't been so accommodating and responsive, the plane would have been stuck there for days to wait out the weather. Thank you!

On the way to OSH we were about to run into the Saturday storms so even though we just had KDKB as a waypoint, we decided to stop and wait out the storms. Great decision!! By later that evening there were about 30 other airplanes there with us. The local EAA chapter had a wonderful young man grilling free hot dogs along with bottled water and chips. The staff could not have been more accommodating. Jeff Flannigan, the Line Service manager must have spent over an hour on the phone arranging hotel rooms for anyone that wanted them as it became apparent we weren't getting out of there until the next day. He then made multiple trips taking all of us to our hotels. Oh, and did I mention they had the best Avgas pricing of our trip. I can't imagine a better FBO experience. Kudos to Jeff and the lady behind the desk whose name I can't remember.

Very friendly airport with great runways and one of the best fuel prices in the Chicago area. I'm based at DPA, about 20 miles east, but often stop at DKB to get fuel. The FBO has basic facilities and is staffed by super friendly people.

We got stuck behind a storm front in our RV and DKB right below us. We landed and Rhonda helped to make the wait a real treat. She gave us suggestions in town for food and gave us the car - even put our baby in the hangar with some special guests! It was a great place to get stuck for a few hours - clean and comfortable!

I was there for a couple days doing aerial survey work. Staff was very helpful in getting helicopter into heated hangar overnight. Courtesy car to Country Inn nearby was great.

I diverted to DeKalb because of weather and needed to overnight. Dave and the staff there were great. They provided a crew car for the night and help with getting a hotel room. This was my third stop at KDKB, both legs for Oshkosh and this trip to KFNL, and each experience has been outstanding. The facilities, service, and people are First Class!
