I chose Sedalia for a mid-continent fuel stop, even though they have no GPU, because the airport manager quoted me 2.80 per gallon Jet-A. When I called to tell them I may be 30 minutes after closing time and verified the price, it was 2.90 but no overtime charge was mentioned so I did not complain. After taking 475 gallons and paying with my Phillips card to save the FBO the 2% Visa charges, the price worked out to 3.08. I called the FBO manager and was told that "all FBO's in Missouri quote their fuel price without disclosing the state sales tax" I know that is not true as I have visited many FBO's in Missouri. He apologized but made no offer to make it right. Next time I will stick with Salina Kansas.

Landed at DMO last week on a trip from Texas to Iowa to pick up fuel and it was the cheapest gas of the trip---by far. The folks were very friendly. When I called in they asked if I wanted fuel, I said yes and they were ready and waiting, cleaned the windshield without asking. A nice place.

This is a great little airport and is very well maintained. I've been in there several times over the last three years and have found them lacking in only two areas. The pay phones have been removed. I guess they feel everyone uses cellular. Maybe we do, but some phone calls just work better on a landline phone. Secondly, when you arrive after hours there is no restroom or weather service access that I know of. That would be a nice plus. As a side note, if you need maintenance service see Herb at DORAVIATION, on the field at DMO. He is extremely helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable. He got me back in the air in one day when I experienced a stuck valve and bent pushrod and tube while in flight on a cross country. Thanks, Herb
