About Cutter Aviation
Founded in 1928, Cutter Aviation is America's oldest continually family-owned FBO and aviation service company. In operation for over 80 years, Cutter Aviation operates at seven major airports in the Southwestern United States. Cutter locations in Arizona (Deer Valley and Phoenix Sky Harbor), New Mexico (Albuquerque) and Texas (Dallas-McKinney, El Paso and San Antonio) and Colorado (Colorado Springs) provide a wide range of services to transient and based aircraft including fuel and FBO service, maintenance, avionics, new and pre-owned aircraft sales and charter and aircraft management.

The Phoenix, Deer Valley, Albuquerque, and Dallas-McKinney facilities are full-service, fixed-base operations, with El Paso and Colorado Springs providing line services for transient aircraft. San Antonio provides new and pre-owned aircraft sales as well as maintenance.

Looking Back
Continuously family-owned for eight decades, the company originated as Cutter Flying Service Inc., in Albuquerque. William P. Cutter envisioned a business that would serve the fledgling aviation community - and the resulting enterprise exceeded his expectations. The company survived the Great Depression, and, at the outbreak of World War II, became major pilot training facility for the military. In 1947, the company began its long-standing affiliation with Beech Aircraft Corporation. Since that time, the Cutter name became, and continues to be, synonymous with major and emerging aircraft brands ranging from piston singles to light and medium turbine aircraft.

Looking Ahead
Over the years, Cutter has maintained a position of leadership in the general aviation community by consistently expanding its services and its locations. Cutter Aviation, Inc., opened its Phoenix operation in 1959. The El Paso facility opened in 1982, Deer Valley followed in 1997, San Antonio in 1998, and McKinney and Colorado Springs in 2006. Cutter remains strong due to an unwavering commitment to customer service, customer and employee satisfaction, and business practices rooted in our core values of respect, trust and integrity.

Company President Will Cutter reinforces this: "These are key ingredients to a formula that has kept us at the forefront of the industry. They have helped us establish a reputation that we are all proud of. Our values have served us well for eighty years, and without them, Cutter would be just another run-of-the-mill service station for airplanes."

Everyone at Cutter provided incredible service from the moment we landed. I would highly recommend Cutter and am looking forward returning soon.

Always the best! Wonderful service, as usual, from this excellent FBO. Been here many times and never disappointed.

From C Dommer on 12-Jun-2011

Great staff excellent service. Arranged a rental car and had it waiting on the ramp. We'll be back

Went to DVT for breakfast. Cutter crew directed us into parking in front of their facility. Brought out the carpet, put chocks under the wheels and took care of us. When we departed our friends 180 wouldn't start. Cutter line service agent provided a jump-start and would not charge him. Great service delivered with a smile.

Customer Service Manager Mike Quintero really knows how to assemble and lead a solid and professional team. Mike, as well as Corinne behind the counter, and Roger and Max on the line were excellent hosts offering plenty of help and every request. My business was in Scottsdale, but five minutes west on the 101 over to Cutter at DVT is worth it!

Arrived Friday 2/25 at around 10:30pm and was parked by a nice line guy who helped the wife and sister carry their bags in. We had arranged for a rent car and he made sure we had everything we needed. Great Job! The next day, I called on our way to the airport and requested a top off. When I got there 20 minutes later, no fuel. The CSR at the counter seemed to be in outer space & just confused how to do anything. I went to the pilot shop, then back to Cutter, and still no fuel. After some time sitting around waiting, I went to check the fuel status, & he was nowhere to be found until I walked out on the ramp to find him and two line guys tossing a football around. I gave him the "what’s the deal?" look and he came in but still no fuel. 15 min later, I finally had a bill to pay. Total time: 1+30+ He was extremely unprofessional and unhelpful, and I would be ashamed to have him represent my company to customers. Great job Friday night, bad job Saturday.

I stopped at Cutter on recent trip to Scottsdale area. DVT is farther by 9 miles to drive but has better fuel prices. My experience at Cutter was great. I emailed before I came and Mike and his team at Cutter arranged my rental car, met me at the plane with the car. Before we left I asked about parking near an electric outlet to plug in m oil pain heaters as it was going to be near freezing at departure time. They pulled it into their hangar and plugged it in at no extra charge. Above and beyond my expectations. I definitely recommend Cutter aviation and DVT if you are heading to Phoenix.

I recently stopped at KDVT for a fuel & food stop. I had a vacuum pump failure and ended up spending the night. The folks at Cutter were top notch. They found a new pump and drove 40 miles to pick it up. It was installed within one business day. The management and staff could not have been more helpful in everything from the aircraft repair to the rental car and hotel arrangements. We very much appreciated their service. We will certainly be back when we are passing through the Phoenix area.

Once again Cutter provided an invaluable rest stop on our way across the country. Being the last stop before home, their friendly service and response to the needs of our little family were very appreciated. We wanted half an hour of rest with some pie and ice cream, so they pointed us out the door to the nearby restaurant on the field. Even in 100+ degree heat it was a tolerable walk. The plane was ready to go when we returned. There is a LOT of flight training at the airport, so keep your head on a swivel as you approach.

From G Moncur on 03-Jul-2010

My typical longer flights include an exhaustive search to fund an airport with an open restaurant for passengers, including a rest stop and fuel. I was not disappointed with DVT and Cutter. There were a lot of students in the pattern -- maybe the IFR flight plan made it easier to "cut in" and out with prompt landing clearance and maybe 5 minutes wait to take off (hint: land on the south runway for quick access to Cutter). I echo all the sentiments of earlier posters: quick rock star parking with experienced line guys and a spotless windshield. Plus the restaurant was better than average with quick service -- and about 100 steps from Cutter. Thanks Cutter and DVT!

Arrived into town June 18 from Jackson Hole in the T206, for a 4-day Scottsdale vacation but arrived DVT for the avgas .70 less at Cutter. The line crew was great, rental car was there as we shut down, they helped load the bags and we were off. They even offered to hold and insert the cowl plugs after the engine had cooled. For departure the plane was out, fueled and ready. Nice job Cutter DVT. One note if planning morning departure, we waited 30 mins in line for departure, not kidding. The local flight school lessons were starting at the same time and we were behind 8 Piper trainers for departure in a very busy pattern. Ask their schedule and plan your morning departure accordingly.

Excellent service!! This is my first time landing at DVT with a single engine Piper. Cutter guys' monitored tower/ground radio so when I landed, the follow-me car has come out and met me at the ramp entrance. The next thing I know when I stepped out the plane, my rental car has arrived next to my plane. They quickly helped me transfer the luggage, helped me put the chains and cover on. Within 5 minutes, the guy opens the car door for me and smile: "Please follow the golf cart to the gate". "No check in?" I was surprised. "No, just give us a call if you need anything." Walla!!! My family and I were on our way. When I came back after several days, the plane has been fuel up as I requested. The manager asked me whether I need a complementary windshield cleaning? The service was speedy when I came back to the plane, everything is ready with a spotless windshield. It is unbelievable.

Great full service FBO, met me at the tie down to marshal me in, and then directed me to the airport restaurant, which is GREAT food and friendly folk, Cutter was excellent... They could have been a little more price competitive on fuel though..........

From Leo Collins on 14-Jan-2010

We were in Phoenix for part of the holidays, and once again these wonderful folks made us welcome -- solved a rental car problem for us, too. We always know we can count on their help.

From Scott Schroeder on 28-Dec-2009

I landed here on the last leg of an east to west coast trip in early October 2009. The service personnel were great and the front desk helped me locate a great hotel suite that included meals and roundtrip taxi for about $100. They had my plane fueled and waiting for me when I arrived for departure the following morning. I highly recommend them!

From Michael Christie on 02-Sep-2009

Cutter provides timely and professional services. DVT based aircraft have special fuel price. 1 penny more than the lowest gas card price of self-serve pump. I'm located on the south side of the field so I happily take advantage of this and thank them for being so reasonable. I always ask for the special price just in case.

From Claudio Losacco on 16-Aug-2009

Great experience at Deer Valley Cutter this weekend. Line guys were great, both on arrival and on departure. Took care of our bags, gave us a ride to/from the terminal, were helpful with local info and nice to boot! The lady inside was very pleasant too. All around great experience.

From Jeff Bundschu on 09-Aug-2009

Cutter absolutely rocked. Upon arrival, was treated well and sent on my way in waiting rent-a-car. Even more so, upon departure, after finding that I had accidentally left my master switch on, they saw to it that a mechanic came out for a jump. Given it was a late afternoon Friday and the guy just as easily could have been on is way home (for the same pay), I was very grateful for Cutter and its service. I highly recommend them.

From Bill Gardner on 19-Jun-2009

Wow, what a difference on my weekday trip to Cutter! A wonderful experience this time. Lineman Max greeted me on arrival and was one of the most friendly and professional I've had the pleasure to meet. Inside, Mike was extra helpful and extra friendly, and even recognized my name from my ten years on the radio in the morning at KOOL-FM Phoenix. Julie kept her smile behind the desk as always. And this time, when I asked for a 7.30AM departure the next morning, I was fueled as requested and up front on the ramp on my arrival. Polished pros all the way, and I'll definitely choose Cutter again.

From David Hamel on 02-May-2009

Flew into KDVT on a transcontinental flight in my Skyhawk on March 3rd. Immediately 3 linemen came running out. Helped with tiedown and unpacking the plane. Asked if I needed a rental car and within minutes they drove one out to the plane for the luggage. The front desk staff and management were equally helpful and courteous. Helped me find a nice hotel in Prescott. Printed out directions for me. Arranged an oil change with their maintenance staff, which was done without a hitch. Overall one of the best FBO's I've ever encountered.

From L. Palmer on 25-Apr-2009

Mike and Miguel at Cutter Aviation were especially resourceful when we were at DVT for a Mooney gathering recently. Thanks for the friendliness and great service.

From Colin Summers on 24-Apr-2009

After ten hours of flying on the Hobbs it was the end of a long day and Cutter made it much easier. They booked our hotel, shuttled us over there, and gave us a little run down on the area. There were high winds and they had the plane tied tightly. It was fueled and ready to go in the morning and they offered to bring my ten year old out to the plane under an umbrella, since there was a light rain. We will return.

From Phil Corman on 19-Apr-2009

Cutter Aviation is a FIRST CLASS operation. We had a Mooney fly-in and they treated us royally. This is the FBO to use at DVT.

From Roger Miller on 10-Apr-2009

Very nice people. Helpful and courteous. This was one of the better FBO's I've been to...

From WD Lewis on 28-Mar-2009

I always stop at Cutter whenever I fly into DVT in my 182. Nice people and good service. I noticed this last trip their fuel price was not updated on AirNav. It was listed as more expensive than Atlantic. I knew that wasn't going to happen and sure enough it was less. I'll continue to be a regular there!

From Richard Weiner on 14-Feb-2009

I've been to Cutter twice in the past month. Service has always been exemplary. Julie and Connie have been friendly and helpful at all times. Fuel prices not bad and no ramp fee with fuel purchase. On the last visit, I had a stuck starter Bendix that I couldn't get to go back in. Brian and Mike took care of it in short order. No charge. Wouldn't even let me buy them a beer. I will always go to Cutter. Although there's cheaper fuel on the field, IMHO it's worth it to patronize these fine guys and gals.
