Gill Aviation is super. They are very professional and helpful. The restaurant is great as well. Kids eat free on Thursday.

I fly into Hook's infrequently but always stop at Gill Aviation when I do. The staff is friendly, service is great and FBO comfortable. Parking is typically do-it-yourself but not an issue; ramp space is more than adequate. I definitely recommend Gill as a consideration when flying to the North Houston area.

Gill Aviation consistently provides a superb level of customer service. This facility is well kept and has an excellent crew lounge. On 8.27.09 this was clearly exemplified by a staff member named Jessica. She not only promptly handled our requests but also did so in a personable manner. Gill Aviation will continue to be our first choice when traveling into the Houston area.

I am very unimpressed. If you are a do-it-yourselfer then Gill is OK. Just be careful parking in the tie-down area as the tolerances for taxiing are VERY tight. The girl at the desk knows next to nothing about aviation.

KUDOS!!! This post is very late in coming but no less deserved. On a day when the N. Side of Houston received about a FOOT of rain with flooding of the airfield, Brittany (front desk) and Daniel (lineman) of Gill Aviation provided me customer service way above and beyond the norm. I called ahead and asked for hangar space. Daniel met me on a non-flooded portion of the ramp in the fuel truck and had me follow him to a high-and-dry T hangar, where he pushed the airplane in while I was still inside of it and moved the gas truck over to the edge of the pavement so I could get in without getting wet from the rain. Brittany took great care of me once inside, suggesting I get a rental car for the short drive to IAH instead of a cab as the traffic would be bad and it would cost me more. OUTSTANDING WORK by these two. Thank you so much.

Not sure why Gill gets all these bad comments. We use Gill several times a month. We don't always get parked by a lineman, but I can park on my own. The cafe is right there, rental cars on site, crew cars. Front desk is always polite. Fuel is priced right. We will keep coming here.

Really a do-it-yourself operation. $20 ramp fee waived with fuel purchase. Staff friendly but some seem very inexperienced.

Stopped in on business and to visit with family on a Friday afternoon. Airport was extremely busy and I couldn't find a lineman to help with parking. Finally parked over next to a bunch of rotting planes (flat tires, not flown in forever, moss growing on wings, etc.) Asked receptionist for a sectional and was told "We don't have a sectional but there are couches in the Pilot's Lounge." Someone finally pointed me in the direction of the aviation store, which was well stocked. Due to close proximity to family will use again. Hopefully I'll have a better experience next time.

The only obvious parking options were tiedown ramp with mostly almost dead airplanes or SS fuel ramp. Parked at the SS ramp, which was the least out of the way. Went inside and the secretary stated that they could fill me up for an extra .25 cents (ready to pay so I could leave) which I thought would include parking my airplane and tiedown. The only convenience here was that I was already parked at the SS pump so, I filled up my airplane, fuel handle stuck (north pump) so several gallons ran onto the ground and over my wing. Fired up my hot airplane, taxied 100 feet, my passengers helped me push the airplane next to a Mooney with all flat tires so we could tie it down. This was very very clean FBO. Unfortunately, they are giving money away by not offering to park airplanes or top them off. I was counting on pay .25 cents per gallon for a top off and a tie down but that is not an option. This is an excellent rest stop, fill up your own plane, check weather, bathroom break and leave FBO.

Really nice FBO with great jet fuel prices and even nicer employees. This is one of the most service oriented facilities I have ever been to with many perks for pilots. Staff is super and the grill next door is great for a sandwich or meal. Easy in and out airport for the Houston area.

Thanks for polite and professional service. We are going to be using your facility from here on out. The people at Gill Aviation are very astute to the aviation needs and the two ladies (Britany and Sheena) are very pleasant to chat with. Thanks again..

Flew into DWH last month and fortunate to have the fine folks at Gill take excellent care of me. Brigette and the line crew made this a fantastic experience. Arrived in a Cessna, but received Gulfstream treatment. Highly recommended!

We stopped at Gill 4 times this month and each time was efficiently handled by the line crew and the CSR staff. In these economic times proper planning begins with AirNav and the savings at Gill beat the "other guys" every time.

This is a great airport with 2 runways and a water landing strip. If you land here, you have got to grab a bite at the Aviator's Cafe! Their seaplane sandwich is awesome!!! The tower folks are great for both VFR and IFR operations. Added bonuses: a great pilot lounge, lots of military aircraft and helos to watch! Fuel prices are good as well at the SS pump. A must stop in the Houston area.

I'm based in NE Texas (4F2) and I periodically fly into Hooks because I have family in north Houston. I often brag about how low the fuel prices are at my home field, but I have to watch myself when I come to Hooks because Gills' fuel prices are very competitive. Helpful and friendly people, and a good flight planning room add to a great experience everytime I go there. And, the restaurant at Hooks has great food. Just be on your toes because it can be a busy airport due to student traffic and local pattern warriors.
