Was there 9.14.08 enroute to ATL. Southern hospitality defined. Had biscuits, muffins, & brownies with homemade jam but the best thing offered was the conversation. Self service 100LL but they insisted on pumping the gas. Hard to leave and will return.

Self Service fuel speaks for itself. A great place for a pit stop to or from OBX.

A friendly airport with a good runway (recently resurfaced) and an even better attitude. Fueling capability is somewhat limited, as they don't have fuel trucks, so you normally have to restart and move your airplane after fueling. However, things were quiet on Sunday afternoon and I was able to leave my MU-2 parked at the pump while I looked at a Stearman. The locals were even charitable when they graded my landing. Their Jet-A price was the best I saw on the trip and was $1.66 per gallon less than Landmark at ROA (yes, I did top off).
