What a great time! It was pretty slow at lunchtime on a Saturday so my wife and I were given a lift into town. The town square looks right out of "Groundhog Day" and was full of people having a wonderful time - soon we were too. There's a fantastic coffee/chocolate shop, a cheese shop, and a Mexican Restaurant, Pancho and Lefty's that was packed full, yet they still found us a couple seats. Best yet, the owner's a pilot. Easy cab ride back, about $7 for two, and only had to wait 5 minutes. KEFT is a great lunch stop, and I'll bet we do it again!

Nice airport, nice town, nice area. Extensive bike trails about 2 miles west of town - will take you 70 miles north and out 40 south. Town is lively with fall festival. Hiking trail starts to the east of the north south runway. Lots of fun!

I haven't flown into EFT as yet but wanted to share what I've found re: ground transportation. The local Ford dealer (608 325 9191) will rent a car for 24hr for $45, delivered to the airport, and requires faxed proof of insurance/license/etc. Local cab company (608 325 6993) goes only within town, tho Flying L Transit (W. 608 325 5463, C. 608 558 0297 will take you to surrounding areas as well (e.G.$50 round trip to New Glarus). I'm planning a trip to New Glarus in order to tour the brewery there.

I usually make it a required stop on my way east as Monroe is my hometown. But also because Rob is a wonderful airport host with great fuel prices. I can usually call ahead and he will have a great cheese sandwich waiting for me. I do with the city would have a courtesy car available but they are leery of liability issues-as if a runway provides no liability. Thanks again to Rob for providing continued great service. Also a hello to Carol and Izzy. (His family)

OK fuel price but no courtesy car - which makes lunch very expensive or impossible.
