Don't normally comment on FBO's but this stop was exceptional. Arrived with my client at 5:30pm for a late afternoon meeting. I informed the line guy (also the manager) we would be about an hour. He said, we close in 30 minutes, and the lobby closes at 6pm! When 6pm came around, there were at least two customers there (including myself) - all of us got the boot outside exactly 6pm! There were people all over the ramp milling around their airplanes (from piston twin to citation jet!). Luckily the weather was good :). Kicking your customers out at 6pm is that customer service?.... In defense of the lady at the front counter, she was very nice, and the manager was polite, but you best not be in the building at 6:01pm!

Stopped a few weeks ago due to an in flight change. Discovered that fuel was almost a $1.15 more per gallon than my planned fuel stop. Nice facility, nice folks, but someone is making a killing. Get a self-serve pump and get fuel down to a price for us regular folks.

Flew into Bessemer airport on Sat, 8/4, 7:45am in an F33A Bonanza. Had sent an email to the listed AirNav contact the night of 8/3 requesting a hangar and fuel top off. Nobody at the FBO for my arrival; plane was not topped off with fuel on my departure at 3:00pm, plane was still in the hot sun, and personnel at the FBO had no idea about my requests. I guess they don't check their email communication or they don't need the business I was trying to give them.

Nice little facility and everyone was very helpful. Be sure and make ground transportation arrangements ahead of time.

Stopped for fuel, food, and lodging on return flight from the Bahamas just before they closed. The lineman noticed the film of salt on the plane and offered us a hose to rinse the plane off. Even though it was closing time he hung around while we rinsed the plane and then pulled it in the hangar, as there were storms in the area. On his way home he dropped us off at the local hotel and even picked us up the next morning. Cannot say enough about how kind and helpful they were. I hated to hear the restaurant on the field closed. That was one of the main reasons we often used this airport. We'll be back as fuel is much cheaper than the local big boys, and there are still several good eating places within a couple of miles, not to mention their attention to customer service.

Always a good stop with cheap self serve fuel. Excellent service today with help from line guys who went above and beyond with help on a dead battery. Thank you!

One of my favorite stops great hamburgers and sandwiches on the field and sometimes live music at night. I'm convinced if there was a bunkroom in the FBO pilots would fly in just to have some brews and laughs with the great crowd in EKY. Came in on Dec 17 and met a great man Dave Harcourt in a Yak-50, after lunch we did a great Form hop on our way out to Meridian...Only in Bessemer...Yaks, SNJs, and Stearmans coming in for the break while eating lunch. Business as usual for EKY. One final note, Ashley is the best on site representative any FBO could ask for, they are lucky to have her charming smile. To say that she sets a friendly and inviting atmosphere is an understatement.

Stopped in at noon on Sunday for fuel. Line guy was right out to park us and bring the fuel truck around. After fueling, we walked over to the "Hangar" restaurant right next door to the FBO and had a great cheeseburger and fries! I would recommend to anyone passing by!

Outstanding $100 hamburger at the Hanger Cafe (and so is the Philly Cheese steak)! The kids had a blast playing in the sand and the grown ups enjoyed the live music. Arrived after FBO hours, unfortunately no self-serve fuel but after hours full-service fuel is available for a fee. PCL and multiple instrument approaches available. Great stop, 24 hour self-serve would make it better.

Excellent people with a nicely refurbished FBO. Crew car.. Nice area, etc. Birmingham's excellent fuel prices---short drive to city. No landing fees. 600' Rwy. ILS. Go here, corporate and fractionals!

Flew in to Bessemer in our 210 to take our daughter on a college tour of UAB. Fuel price was much better than at Birmingham and service was very good. Rental car was waiting as soon as we landed and the plane was fueled while we were loading the vehicle. All in all, a pleasant experience.

While some may miss the flight training and aircraft rentals, I am thrilled with the new FBO. The fuel prices are the biggest improvement - I don't have to fly down to EET for gas. Harvey has really bent over backwards to help. This is a huge improvement.

WOW!!! While attending a training class in Clanton, A friend and I hopped up to Bessemer to run in to town and grab some dinner. I read about all the changes here and thought I would give them a second chance. As stated before, Ashley is fantastic. She took care of us. Fuel is reasonably priced and service with a smile. The updates in the FBO are GREAT and I will be back!!!! Thank you Ashley.
