On my cross country FLT from Sumter SC to SLC in my C-150 to visit my Dad, we flew to Wendover and really enjoyed it! All the history in and around the FBO transports you back in time to WWII... And to stretch our legs, we walked the approx 1/2 mile to the casinos on the NV/UT state line. Very nice visit/fuel stop. And the view of the salt flats is excellent! All of it was worth the trip.

Stopped at Wendover, Feb 5th, while enroute from Napa CA. to Loveland Colorado. The service was fast and friendly. Also the fuel price was as posted on this site. The runways are in great shape (recently paved) and the airport is easy to spot since it's on the edge of the salt flats. Wish I'd had more time to see the museum and all the great photos in the FBO. I recommend stopping there, in fact, I recommend just flying there to see and experience this historic airfield.

Today I had mechanical problems with my aircraft. They were more than happy to drive me to a steak dinner while I waited for our Mechanic from The Air Center of SLC. I was pleasantly surprised at the services rendered at this small historic airport.

Wendover is a great place to stop or overnight. Historic WW2 B-29 base that is mostly still there. Great service, free transport to and from the low priced nice casinos about a mile away. Huge place with a lot to see and do. Wendover is a must stop or overnight. Great museum and FBO. No self service but good fuel prices from the truck. Make sure to go to their airshow in August.

When I arrived in a C182 on a weekday early afternoon, no one was in the building. I had to call on the phone to raise someone; they try to meet transients but sometimes they don't have the staff. As far as I saw, there's nothing within walking distance of the airport. ENV is not a place for a quick turn or fancy facilities, but if you like history by all means drop in.

We stopped in for just a fuel stop. A really neat FBO because there is a lot of history due to the fact the airport used to be a B29 base. Seems like they are in the process of restoring some of the existing structures from WWII. Neat signs around that tell you the history of the airfield. The lineman was very helpful and got us topped off quickly. We had some flight planning to redo and they were very helpful letting us use their computer for the internet. We had to use their callout. And at $30, I think that is the cheapest callout cost in the country! Thanks for your help guys! Also, the best way to get your clearance out of there is 866-667-3858
