Landed in EPH due to winter weather that refused to improve. Got stuck overnight. The pilots’ lounge is top notch and I sat on the computer waiting for new updates for the weather. Mike came down and we chatted for a while. TV and snacks in the pilots’ lounge, a place to kick back for a few hours, and even a small museum detailing the history of the airport. Can't blame the airport for the weather, but they sure made it a nice place to get stuck! Courtesy car is great and I stayed at a local hotel. Will stop back when weather is nicer!

Flying my plane back to Alaska in April, our engine was approaching the number of hours for an oil change. One look at the air chart and the Ephrata airport was in direct line going north back to Alaska. We knew ahead of time that it would be a great pit stop from our pleasant visit last fall. Upon arrival Mike Wren gave us a great welcome and was most helpful (on the radio) even before we shut down our engine by directing us to Scott Glassburn's hangar. The curtsey van was key in obtaining a case of oil for the change. Scott was most helpful and stopped a developing oil leak. He gave our engine a check up before we flew up thru the Trench into the Yukon and Alaska, which added to our peace of mind. He also got us back in the air quickly. We needed to push as far north as possible that day to out run another batch of low weather. I cannot say enough good about your great airport. Keep up the great work. For us it puts Ephrata on the map.
