June 4, 2013. This is my first stop at Caldwell. Based only on visual references taxiing from Rwy. 30 after landing Silverhawk was the only sign of serious activity. I shut down at the s/serve fuel island and immediately began the refueling process. Short story: it required four cycles of my credit card in order to pump 50 gallons of 100 LL. Finally a local walked over from the cafe to assist me and he also was confounded at the pumps behavior. At that time the fuel price on both AirNav and Silverhawk's website was listed as $5.22. I tried to telephone Silverhawk after 0900 of the day I arrived to check on fuel availability but no answer. When I arrived at the pump the price was $5.75. Overall, I'm unfavorably impressed with the management of Silverhawk Aviation.

Silverhawk is a great little FBO and helicopter flight school. Called ahead about fuel price/availability/rental car. They parked me up front, met with a friendly greeting, fuel truck standing by (fuel at a good price), car keys on the counter, and good directions to a great local restaurant, oh and a 20% discount coupon for the hotel! The next morning, they greeted me by name and were willing to help! Excellent customer service.

Fuel was 35 cents higher than 6 days earlier when last updated at Silverhawk. Suggest you call them if you really would like to know the current price. Also the other vendor at least shows his price on a large sign where Silverhawk surprises you after you pump.

Fuel was as advertised SS. Pump is credit card operated 24 hours. Restaurant was next to the pump and has excellent food with outside seating. Lots of GA activity, and aircraft on the field. We stopped in only for the food and fuel on a long cross country, so cannot comment on hotel and transportation.

My first mistake was landing after closing hours. On GPS approach, I called 10, 6 and 3 miles out and a local landed in front of me. He later apologized and heard all my calls. While refueling, an aircraft stopped prop to prop about 10-12 feet away and was upset I took so long to refuel-50 gal. I called 6 motels, no pick up, The Cool Cab Co never showed. Three and a half miles to the motel. Had to walk back in the morning. Good for exercise!

Good folks, just would be nice if the fuel prices were posted at the pumps that they control.
