Newark, the United States' fourth largest metropolitan region shows little of its Puritan beginnings. The city grew into early industrial success and today is a healthy economic mix of manufacturing and commercial businesses. Just minutes away from New York City, Signature-Newark is the ideal FBO for business in the area.

I flew into EWR/Signature today and the linemen directed my single engine piston right to the front of the flight line and asked if they could help with luggage as soon as the door was open. The airport authority car pulled up one minute later with the forms to complete so that they could charge me landing fees ($25 during off-peak hours). Fuel service was pricey, but efficient and waived facility fees. The signature staff was friendly and courteous and the complimentary cookies and ride over to my flight were great. The Hudson approach to Newark (fly directly over the Statue of Liberty and turn right) was memorable. Bring your A game, it is very crowded airspace and busy controllers.

Had to take a friend to the airport, I was going to go into TEB because I had been in there lots of times then just use the crew car to drive him to Newark. I called Signature about fees and they advised me that the ramp fee for a single engine was $38 waived with fuel. I was like wow that will be a lot quicker so that was the plan. 1 month later I get a bill $118.00 from the port authority $100 for landing and $18 for taking off. I would have thought that the people at Signature would have advised of such outrageous fees. I was on the ground for 25 min. I will never spend another dime in New Jersey I will find an airport in NY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I'd update my review of one year ago. Still a very accommodating crew at Signature. Their driver retrieved my wife from the terminal and carted her luggage from the curb to planeside--all with the customary friendly attitude. Sure the fuel price is high, but so are their costs. If your pax is connecting through EWR, I don't know why you'd fly anywhere else!

I have to offer a different opinion about Signature at EWR. I've flown there many times to pickup or dropoff an airline passenger. Signature's has always accommodated a quick turn, waived their fees with top-off, and provided transport to/from the terminal. Frankly, my little piston single can't generate much revenue for them, but you'd never know it from their cheerful and helpful attitude.

Absolutely the most ridiculous pricing of any FBO we have ever flown into. $650 handling fee and a $118 Port Concession Fee combined with the $6.71 Jet A makes this FBO the most outrageous in the industry. We will NEVER return to EWR because of this FBO, period!
