Not much in Frederick, but the fuel is cheap ($3.50 for 100 gallons or more!), and you get to watch the T6-2's doing touch and go on weekdays. Worth a stop if you need gas on a cross-country trip (as we did).

This has become our favorite fuel stop between Shreveport and Angel Fire! Nice fuel prices, and very easy in and out. If you happen to drop in while the military is using the field, you get great traffic advisories and help in sequencing from the RSU. Thanks!

Great Airport. All sorts of Military activity to observe. Also home of the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team, the only place in the world where you can be trained as a qualified parachutist just like in the military during WWII. The school is tough and not for everyone, but at the end of training-if you pass a rigorous course and test-, you can make 5 jumps out of a vintage C-47 aircraft and earn your Paratrooper wings, which are pinned on as "blood wings" by a WWII Veteran Paratrooper. "Remember, honor, serve", is there motto. What a great cause and great organization!! Well worth the visit.
