Flew in on November 3rd. got a rental car from Enterprise on the field, which worked out great. CAUTION WHEN PARKING FOR TIEDOWN- the double row of tiedowns near the FBO building is not wide enough to taxi. On arrival we tried and the Tiger wouldn't fit so had to shut it down and pull it elsewhere. When leaving saw another plane (Warrior) do the same thing. Both times the FBO was attended and they did not attempt inform pilots not to attempt the taxi there. A local said several planes have been damaged by planes taxiing here. Spaces also are not wide enough to allow same wing heights tied down next to each other. Best to tie down further from FBO in the single rows.

Four Stars for the service at Gatlinburg. The price of fuel is quite high but the good service makes up for some of it. Joe Naill at the Enterprise rental car desk is a star member of the good service team. Ramp guys went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Our car was ready on a Sunday morning and driven out to the plane. Just remember that the traffic in the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg area is worse than India; so don't be in a hurry.

Flew down for a vacation October 12-17 in a C182. Enterprise rental car was located right on the field. They are closed on Sundays, the day I arrived, so my rental car was waiting for me right on the ramp. The folks inside the FBO gave me the keys. Fuel is $5.80, and overnight parking is $5.00 per night. They did not waive this fee with fuel purchase even though I bought 43 gallons. Other than that, great place and very friendly!

Flew in for the day on 8-9-08. Courtesy car was down, so we decided to walk the mile or so to the local eateries. Shortly after leaving on foot, the fellow that owns the local A&W Root Beer stopped, said that the FBO had asked him to offer us a ride! We rode with him to the A&W, got a great lunch, and he had one of his folks drive us back to the airport. A really nice bunch of people! Check out the Tennessee Air Museum, it's right there on the field, and they have some awesome displays. Avgas was about $0.70 cents cheaper per gallon than KJWN.

I called GKT to see if they had a courtesy car. I was told that they did and could use if for up to 1 hour. When I arrived, they had given it out to another party (for all day). FBO manager allowed me to use her personal vehicle to make a quick trip to a local restaurant. The courtesy car "thing" was their mistake but they sure made up for it. Very friendly and helpful FBO staff.

Made my second trip to GKT over the Thanksgiving holidays. Both trips experienced good friendly service from the FBO and Enterprise - car was waiting and drove right up to the plane.

My wife and I flew in 10/8/07 for a day of sightseeing and shopping. Enterprise rental car ready as promised. No ramp fee even though we did not make a fuel purchase. Departure preflight revealed low nose wheel pressure. The lineman, with great efficiency and courtesy, promptly rectified the situation and we were quickly on our way. Great service! Nice people..... Highly recommended.

Close in airport to Gatlinburg and Dollywood. Enterprise right on the field. Service is fine, but gas is kind of pricy. Calm wind runway is 28. Be aware of the small hill at the end of 28.

Called FBO manager, wanting to fly in for a nice meal with family. I advised him enterprise had no cars. He said he could only let me take it to McDonald’s just a few miles down the road due to insurance reasons. I really though this was a fabricated reason to just say no. Why would I fly there to eat at McDonald’s? I was going to spend probably 100 dollars for fuel. There are airports all over this country that will gladly give you a 2-hour car ride into town for a nice meal. I decided to fly to Myrtle Beach instead. Spent 138.00 on fuel and took the car for 2 hrs for a nice meal.

Parked our airplane at KGKT during our vacation in Gatlinburg. Nice folks, enterprise right at the airport, reasonable fuel prices, and reasonable overnight charges. Will visit there again in the future.

Flew in to visit my sister and her husband for a couple days, well it turned into 4 days as that big front moved through the area on April 13 and 14. Really slammed the east coast. Had snow in the mountains from TN to NC to VA. We decided to fly back on Monday in the winds, good flight until VA and then it got bumpy and had to go to my alternate due to strong cross winds. Go visit this airport. Good service and nice people. Call ahead for a rental car, Enterprise is right there. I really don't look at fuel prices so I can't comment, the day I complain about fuel costs is the day I quit flying. They fueled the plane quickly and paying for all was quick. While there look up the Warbird Museum. They really have a nice collection of aircraft. They have two flying P-47's, they are kickin hot! Lots to do in TN. Take your fishing rods, great trout fishing in the Holston River.

Great place. Stopped by for the afternoon a couple of days before Thanksgiving, 2006. Enterprise was very accommodating. FBO folk were taking care of us just after landing. This place is beautiful but in a valley. Watch for deer and be careful with IMC. In fact, I would wait for visual conditions because of the mountains, etc. We will be back, though. Be sure and visit Gatlinburg along with Pigeon Forge. The Hard Rock in Gatlinburg was a hit with our kids. Lots of little shops and entertainment. The Branson of the East.

Took the family to Gatlinburg on 10/10/06. Staff was friendly and fast to park us and top us off. No charge for ramp (just stayed 1 day). Fuel was $4.44/gallon, which is pricey regardless of what other people are charging. Man, I miss the days of $2/gallon! Keep your eyes open for helicopter rides over Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. I probably wouldn't come into this area without a radio - too many helicopters. This is an awesome vacation spot - we'll be back!

We went in there a few nights ago for a lifeguard flight. ATC kept us at 11, 000 feet crossing the VOR making a circle necessary. Aside from that minor gripe, we spent the night chatting with the airport manager who came in personally to open the field for our arrival. He is very realistic about the state of the facilities here and is in the process of improving the place. I look forward to returning in the future to see how things work out. By the way, the smell was amazing there. You could smell the oak trees surrounding the field; it felt great being away from the concrete jungle for a while.

I found some great folks at the FBO, very friendly and helpful. However, I was very disappointed when I learned there was also a 15% surcharge/tax place upon car rentals on top of landing fees. When this is added to the other taxes of 9.5% Sales and 3% Rental, the total taxes accessed on a rental is 27.5%. This is pretty hefty when compared to total taxes for car rental at Atlanta Hartsfield of only 18.6%.

Nice FBO with adequate facilities. My major issue was that they had no Internet service, either wireless or a computer of any sort connected to the Internet. Hard to fathom in this day and age. People there were extremely friendly and helpful.
