What a fantastic long-weekend experience! Flew my mom and daughter in for a couple days at Schlitterbahn, and Evergreen met us on the ramp with cold drinks and yummy snacks, along with a ride to the water park gate before we could even go inside! Even offered to pick us up, but it was only a block away, so we walked back over later to get our stuff and rent a car for a couple hours to run some errands (they do hourly rentals), and we were already topped off and good to go! Galveston was awesome, Schlitterbahn was incredible, Rainforest Cafe was exotic, Inn At The Waterpark was comfortable...And Evergreen was top-notch!! Super-friendly folks, anxious to go the extra mile. Really not that busy of an airport, except for heli's going offshore, but very few fixed-wings--and friendly tower too! THANKS, and we'll definitely be back!!

Very nice and helpful people at Evergreen FBO. I flew in to Galveston twice so far, both times we got a ride to town to eat and were picked up to come back. Thank you so much! I'll come again!

My wife and I flew into KGLS in 2006 and again in June 08 in order to get on a cruise. The Evergreen staff offered to drive us to the boat and pick us up upon return. It was a quiet, calm environment. Easy in and easy out of KGLS. Houston Center and approach was attentive supportive. In all, an easy place to stop. The staff offered a bottle of wine with the Spruce Goose label! We will return.

Flew into GLS on 5/12 from SAT. The folks at Evergreen were FANTASTIC! They have rental cars for $25 for a 4-hour period, which worked great for us. Our plane was topped-off when we returned as we requested and they provided a map of Galveston. They really made our short visit there a wonderful experience. THANK YOU ALL!!!

Beware self-serve fuel pump does not always work at night and you may get stuck there for hours waiting for someone to come and fix it. Just make sure you have enough fuel to get to another airport.

Flew down for a cruise, upon return the airport was socked in by fog and low ceilings. Evergreen didn't charge me for a hangar during the cruise, gave me a car for what turned out to be two days waiting for the weather to clear (need to finish that IFR ticket), and wouldn't take any money for anything but the fuel when I was finally able to leave. Fuel was not cheap, but not outrageous either. Thanks to everyone at Evergreen!

What a turn around from my last stop, Stopped in to drop a pax. I was offered every under the sun, even help with the baggage, and an offer of a ride into town to get a bite to eat. All I can say is WOW what a turn around!!!

Went in on 10-19. Had a battery problem. They wasted no time in hooking me up with the local mechanic who was very, very busy with lots of planes (mostly warbirds), but who took time out to stop what he was doing and replace mine. I figured there was some kind of catch, but nope, he was cheaper than my home mechanic. Did not have any problems with Evergreen like ones referenced here. Line guys were EXTREMELY helpful and courteous. Offered to bring car to us. Should note that the building that says "Scholes Air Terminal" is where you need to park, not at the building with the Evergreen sign. Good job guys!! Highly recommend and definitely will return soon!!!.

Arrived late on a weeknight for a 2-day stay. Line crew greeted aircraft & assisted with tie-down and luggage. No crew car for transient pilot use, but drop-off transportation was provided. Request for fuel top-off was ignored, had to wait for fuel after discovering that tanks still empty on departure day. Desk staff was friendly, but was plagued with non-working equipment (c-card reader, copy machine, etc). Working computer provided for weather checks & nice comfortable lounge area, however. All in all a mixed bag, but the only game in town at this field.

The weather was terrible when we arrived but they met us with a cart and drove us from the plane to the FBO. Inside Leah carried us into town for lunch and came back to pick us up. The plane was refueled and ready to go. Checked weather and even though the weather was better still got a ride to the plane. They were great. I will definitely be back.

Was worried after reading some of the previous comments but wanted to share that I had a very good experience with both KGLS and Evergreen yesterday Saturday June 2, 2007. The staff met us at the plane, took care of our requests promptly and efficiently, we were pleased. Thank you, Evergreen staff. JetA price was terrific too.

This is the worst service I have ever had at an FBO. The staff was to busy taking smoke breaks or playing games on the WX computer. The counter girl was either not there, or talking on the phone. I will avoid this airport and FBO at all costs in the future.

Frankly I had stopped using this FBO due to the attitudes of the staff and lack of caring. However, I visited Evergreen on 04-28 for the air show and this place has done a 180!!! The staff now is very accommodating and friendly as well. They seem to go out of their way to make you feel at home and treated my 6-year-old stepson like a king by continuing to offer him the complimentary drinks and cookies. This is a great FBO and keep up the good work! See ya next time.

I stopped at Evergreen yesterday April 6, 07 on my way from MX for gas. The line guy was friendly and helpful. The self-serve card reader was down but the line guy filled me off the truck for the self-serve price. Office staff helpful but new so she didn't know how to change the price in the computer to reflect the self-serve price. Got it done though and saved me almost 15 dollars on gas. I plan to come again on my way back to MX in 3 weeks.

Called and arranged Enterprise rental car 4 days ahead. Arrived after dark right before closing time. Friendly line service helped with lots of luggage, the car was on site and offered to bring to the aircraft. Very Nice experience. Lots of helicopters. Thank you.

The airport and facilities are great. Easy to access. A lot of helicopter activity too, fun to watch. Pulled into the parking and there are already blocks and tie downs at each parking spot for you. The only thing is don't go there for the service. We walked in and asked for a courtesy car to use for about an hour to grab something to eat. They didn't have one. We could rent a car at $25 an hour but we had to rent for at least 4 hours and on top of that there's a 25 age minimal requirement, which means we couldn't rent anyway. So we walked to find a spot to eat. The lady pointed us in a direction to a place to eat then we realized it was well over a mile away so we didn't go. We then found another spot about 1/2 a mile away to find it closes at 5. It is a great airport just don't except service.

Called on 8/22/200 to reserve a car and was confirmed by a nice lady. Arriving early on 8/23/2006 there was no car and basically told "too bad". Nothing a $75 cab fare couldn't cure. Lesson learned: Risky to trust Evergreen.

Called four days ahead to reserve a car, and again one day ahead to confirm. When we arrived they had no car and no record of our calls. They eventually found the record buried in a drawer. They provided us with a mini-van instead of our ordered compact, which was nice. Waiting to see what rate we will be charged. Lineman was prompt and courteous, plane fueled as desired. Generally good experience, but they're a little disorganized.

Me and a friend flew in to GLS, ground crew from Evergreen met us and showed us where to park, offered to fuel us up, but we had plenty of fuel, (came from KDWH, and was going back there) visited the flight museum, then came back a few hours later, but we were both hungry. Their courtesy car was already taken, so one of the rap guys (Junior) offered to take us down in one of the rental cars to get some food to eat and take it back to the terminal, as a courtesy! Of course we bought him food as well for his time / trouble, but they didn't charge us for the rental car. They went above and beyond what I would have expected, and we didn't even buy fuel from them! Great guys, friendly, will definately tell people about my experience (which is why I'm posting this here) with Evergreen at GLS, certainly made for a worthwhile trip.

Norman was out to meet us in a golf cart as we shut down the engine. (Note the earlier comment that Evergreen's desk is in the main terminal building, not at the large Evergreen hangar at the north end of the field.) A pre-arranged Hertz rental car was waiting for us in front of the terminal, and Norman was kind enough to take our bags around to the car. We appreciated the helpful and friendly service!

Arrived exactly on time for my reservation. Needed 100LL and had requested hangar. When I arrived, after having been confirmed a hangar, no space was available. After leaving, a lineman called my cell to tell me hangar space was found and my plane had been stored. The next morning, after recieving a much higher than expected fuel bill, the guy at the desk informed me of my plane having been never hangared because of some random helicopter that came in after I landed wanting a hangar space. Overall a great place for Galveston, but there are many things they could work on.

If you're going to the Texas Gulf Coast, GLS is by far the best "full-service" facility in which to fly. In the Winter, the tower secures promptly at 1800 at which time getting in and out of the facility gets even easier (especially if the Houston Class "B" has settled down). Just be careful when you're flying into the place at night as the grounds are not very well lit and finding the self-serve pump is a bit of a challenge. Beware of parked (and flying) helicopters - they seem to be everywhere. Otherwise, the staff is friendly and helpful with no ramp parking fees.

Arrived on Christmas day after sunset. Line guy was too busy finishing his smoke to help with parking, chalks, bags, etc. Left two days later again with no help from any of the line personnel. Current charts don't tell you that you can get clearance from the new tower. I guess if you are going to Galveston you don't have much choice, but the next time I'm going to RON en route to Mexico or South Florida I'll stop in Houston.

What a great FBO. They will bend over backwards to help you out and make you feel at home. Be cautious, they now have a control tower.
