Friendly line crew. Helped us get a rental car delivered right on time. Even gave us a ride to Moody Gardens just a block away. My second visit was as good as the first! Newly repaired main terminal is nice. Keep up the good work!

Flew in with my cousin in a Cessna 162 Sky Catcher. Parking was kinda confusing, as there are gigantic concrete barriers set out for helicopter parking, but the line guy parked us w/ no problem. Very helpful, took us in a golf cart to the main terminal/FBO office. This airport is very historic and a lot of modifications have been done to it, it looks VERY nice. Dina, our go to lady, was outstanding. The airport is literally across the street from a water park, and down the road to a beach. The crew car was already taken, but the line guy offered to take us to a close restaurant in a golf cart. Had no problems! They had self serve and full service fuel too. Again, a great little airport for a great little (well, not little) town, after making a great comeback from the last hurricane. Thanks a bunch guys! N7027W will be back again!

This is the kind of first-class FBO that keeps flying pleasurable! The friendly linemen and the rental car were waiting on the ramp as I pulled up and the airplane was tied down before I could even get out.

Landed there for a family vacation at Moody Gardens. They have a stretched golf cart that they took our family of 5 and all our luggage over. Came and picked us up and delivered us to planeside. Great Service; great place to stop for a family vacation.

Dena and crew were awesome with our family. Excellent directions and recommendations, apologies for a pretty poor rental car, and overall as friendly as one could want. I didn't need fuel, but purchased anyway out of appreciation for their attitude and initiative.

Galveston Aviation Services is back in the 50s-era terminal, which had been trashed by Ike. The service was first rate: marshaler on the ramp, followed by rent car by the plane, excellent facilities, friendly people, prompt fuel service, no delays on arrival or departure and a gorgeous airport.

Called Saturday 5-9-2011 spoke to someone there and informed them of our plans to fly in that evening and that we would require fuel. They told me there was a $100 call out fee seemed steep but I agreed to that and they agreed to meet me there at 8pm and informed me they would track my flight. Upon arrival approx 8:05 there wasn't anyone present after unloading all of the passengers bags and calling for them a cab. I decided I would just fuel the plane myself via the self service pump, after repositioning the aircraft and numerous attempts to use the self service station I called the FBO number. No answer! However they called me back about 5 mins later I asked about getting fuel and was informed that it would be at least 30 mins before he could get their even after all our arrangements. Terrible experience probably worst I have ever had in a 12 year careerResponse from Doug Kingsbury, Owner, Galveston Aviation Services, Inc. Danny, I don't blame you for being irritated. I researched this incident and it was a total screw up and an inadvertent miscommunication on our part. There was a plane that arrived earlier than you that evening that had not called ahead and my line guy mistook him for you, fueled him and went back home. My heartfelt apology and if there is something I could do to make up for it next time please call me direct 713-851-4031. Doug

Very nice facility with a mostly great staff that was very helpful. Even took us to a nearby motel for an overnight stop. Used Enterprise Rent A Car was quick and reasonable priced. Just left the car at the airport upon departure.

Unexpected & unannounced refuel stop while passing through, was a joy to see the gang again, greeting us with warm smiles! They took excellent care of us and our a/c, loaned us the courtesy car to run to Rainforest Cafe which is also always a cool experience, and sent us back on our way well satisfied...See y'all again soon!

We stop in Galveston a couple of times per year. KGLS is improving, but you can still see Ike's damage - displaced threshold, spotty ILS (watch Notam's carefully), damage at the terminal, etc. It's easy in vacation areas for the FBO to do the minimum, but these folks seem to work harder and make you feel special. We've dropped our Enterprise rental off with them and they return it for no charge. Our plane is always fueled on time and ready to go, and they always offer rides in their golf cart for passengers. The trailer doesn't look like much (and looks like they're constructing a new building), but the people at GAS sure treat you well.

Returned here again this year. Not very pleased with the lineman. Arrived Friday afternoon and was told, "It was really busy". Asked to be topped off before my Sunday departure. Arrived Sunday, no top off. Was told by the same lineman that it had been "really busy"! Not charged any fees. Saved $.15 and fueled myself so as to not make it any "busier"!Response from Doug Kingsbury, Owner Galveston Aviation Services, Inc. So sorry Chris, I am looking into this and we will never be too busy for you again.

Tower advised me to look for the "cart". Sure enough the line guys in the golf cart directed me to parking. First class service and a cool drink of water made for a pleasant arrival. The FBO is in a trailer but it's air conditioned and adequate. Main terminal at GLS is still suffering from the last hurricane. Check NOTAMS for other hurricane related outages. The crew made our stay enjoyable and gave us first class service. We'll be back again.

The line guys try real hard, but the fuel service island is often down for one reason or another. Even when it isn't down the fuel is some of the most expensive in the Houston area. No rent cars or loaner cars are available, restrooms are in a trailer. The airport had extensive damage by Ike and it will be a long time recovering.Response from Doug Kingsbury, Owner, Galveston Aviation Services, Inc. Kurt, I beg to differ with your comments. Although we have no control over the reconstruction of the airport, we have made an extreme effort to bring excellence to the new Scholes FBO. We have a brand new state of the art fuel farm, with the convenience of self service for our customers. The only time I am aware of an issue was last week when the phone lines were cut by a construction crew, but our trucks were still fueling. We DO have rental cars and we DO have a courtesy car and we feel our prices are quite fair in comparison and I understand we gave you full service at the self serve price. Please give us another chance to make you smile.

Not as impressed with FBO. Family and I had to divert to GLS due to weather in the Houston area on recent Saturday. FBO is still in bad shape due to working out of a temporary building (terminal destroyed by Hurricane Ike). We were met at the plane with tiedown and chocks; we were also offered a ride locally, but no loaner car, and no cars to rent...Pretty well stuck...Had to scramble on our own using PDAs to find a hotel when weather turned worse. Got locked out of the room where they have one weather terminal (an old beat-up laptop) at 4:30 in the afternoon when they closed early. Clean restrooms. Suggest using this field and FBO only if you have advanced plans made...Not a good divert destination, in my opinion.

What a great experience! We flew iinto GLS for a short beach getaway last week and got to experience the transformation of service that Galveston Aviation has brought to the field. We were met quickly by a lineman who immediately tied us down and got a golf cart to help us with our bags...Then he found out we had a Enterprise car reserved and he zipped away and pulled the car right up to the plane. While I loaded bags, the friendly ladies in the office where helping my wife with the paperwork and plying my son with honeybuns and cokes! By the time the bags were loaded in the car, everything was finished...Beach here we come! GLS has become a favorite airport for me because of Galveston Aviation! They treated us like biz jet passengers and we just drive a little 172. Thanks!

Friendly and helpful staff. Some runway closures. Main building closed due to hurricane damage. No courtesy car but staff drove us to and from our hotel. Hotel "Victorian" was dated and overpriced. I recommend stopping at this airport because it needs business after hurricane damage.

What an impression these folks make. They treat you like a celebrity. Galveston is the best bang for the dollar when it comes to day trips from the Houston area. You have everything within just a couple of blocks from the tie downs. Moody Gardens, the IMAX Theater, the flight museum, and the Schlitterbahn water park. Before I finished my shut down there was a van that pulled up asking me if I needed to go somewhere! I had to think for a moment if I had inadvertently landed on Fantasy Island. I can't say enough about how well I was treated. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I must say this is without exception the friendliest FBO I have ever visited. Dena took care of everything, including lodging at a very nice resort. We went on a cruise from Galveston and she ordered charts while I was away and had them ready for me when I returned. Reasonable price on fuel and great service. I'll definitely be back again.

We were there on September 27, 2009 for a fuel stop only. We were greeted on the ramp by the only person there who was extremely friendly and efficient. We took a short break, given a bottle of water and friendly conversation. We then headed off to New Orleans. Every positive note you have read about this airport is true. Hats off to Galveston!

Stayed in Galveston overnight. These guys simply could not have been more helpful, efficient and friendly. Booked a hotel for us, drove us to and picked us back up from the hotel. They are in a temporary building at the moment as Hurricane Ike gutted the main terminal, but they are making the best of it. What a great place to visit and the FBO certainly added to our excellent experience!

A memorable good trip back to Galveston, 9 Aug 2009. Rental car at decent rate. The day in Galveston kept us out after the FBO closed for the day so will be sure to buy fuel beforehand next time. Self-serve pumps may be operable now.

Stopped in over the weekend to visit family. The FBO is in a trailer but the service is on the ramp! Great job, friendly people. Still plenty of work to be done on this island after the hurricane! Check out the Weather Channel pick-up that's featured in their latest "Storm Stories". It's still wedged in what's left of a pier not far from the terminal. Lots of great food on this island! Don't know about a crew car since we had family pick us up.

Business took me to Galveston for the first time since the hurricane. The FBO facilities were virtually destroyed so Galveston Aviation Services is operating out of a trailer until the first of the year. There facilities may be spartan, although they have what a pilot needs, but the staff works very hard to provide customer focused service. They do it very well from the office staff to the line crew. Fuel prices are very reasonable. Give them an opportunity to impress you.

Another VERY fun trip to Galveston this past weekend, to visit Schlitterbahn Water Park & Inn At The Water park (all within walking distance from the field). Previous trip was just prior to the hurricane last year, and Galveston has really worked hard to come back quickly and everything was up and running! Dena and the gang took EXCELLENT care of us and our Sierra...Truly a pleasure to meet and chat with them, and very much appreciated the cart rides around the area and the use of a courtesy car for the Rainforest Cafe just a few miles away!! Mostly offshore rotorcraft at KGLS, so you're not going to get a rush-job when dropping in. They go the extra nm! If you're looking for a water park getaway, it cannot be beat anywhere especially by being so close; or for a $100-hamburger there's plenty to choose from and the friendly folks at GAS cannot be beat either...Thanks much, and see y'all again!!
