Stopped today to go to the giant flea market just outside the airport fence. There were no crew cars and no chance for a ride. A cab couldn't arrive quickly so we ended up walking 1 mile around the airport fence to get to the flea market. The fuel prices are good and the FBO seems to be trying but this is one of those obvious cases where a city controls the fate of the airport and it is doing a poor job. The city building was closed. No restaurant. No rental cars, nothing.

The "dead man" switch that required a second operator has been removed and this is now a true self-serve pump with the best price around.

I am based at GPM; I applaud the new lower fuel prices but warn everyone from relying on the self-service pump. It is the most archaic, difficult, unreliable self-service facility I have ever encountered. I'd recommend just pay the extra money and have them pump it for you. Do not stop here on empty tanks at night. I have tried on 2 separate occasions to get fuel at night and the pump kept giving me a message basically saying the network didn’t work so I couldn't receive fuel. Other than that the airport is still top notch and a great location. Would like the city to improve it somewhat, a crew car for visiting pilots would be a good idea.

We were there on 10-20. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed for a private party; there were no crew cars (the city doesn't want to pay the insurance cost), not much of a pilot's lounge, and on Saturdays apparently the rental car companies (Hertz & Enterprise) close at noon (we arrived after that). The city would be wise to improve some of these things should they want to attract more corporate traffic. On a wonderfully positive note, the FBO rocks! The people there are so friendly, and made what was turning out to be a bad experience a wonderful experience. Thanks to Brennan for turning my experience around!

Flew in and out of GPM today, we received great service from ground control, tower and fuel assistant. Request that the fuel pump be set to allow more time to fuel. Had to re-swipe credit card in the little time it took to switch from one tank to the other. Other than the minor inconvenience, we had a good experience with the airport services. Great price on SS fuel!! Thanks.

Nice people, helpful tower. We picked up a recently purchased C-150 and John and Andrea checked it out for us, made sure the ADs were up to date, and got us on our way home.

New FBO owners as of about March 2007. Service is still outstanding. New CTSW for sport pilot training. Restaurant is open. The price of 100LL is improving as the new FBO owners and airport (read city of Grand Prairie) are working closer together on fuel purchases. I've watched three FBO's come and go at this location in three years ... Each new FBO was an improvement. New hangers and airport improvements, a quality FBO and service facility, competent airport management, combined with great central location, makes GPM an excellent choice for stops in DFW.

I've been flying to GPM frequently for the last year. The service has always been outstanding. They treat me like I'm a local in my 172 and go out of their way to be sure my trip is pleasurable. Today's trip was a run to avoid a major winter storm that's hitting the area tonight. I got here late. When I arrived they quickly braved the 32-knot winds to tie me down properly and to be sure I knew what was coming in. I told them I knew about the ice but was hoping I could get my plane in a hangar for the storm. Aviator's hangar was bulging from everyone else that had the same idea. They know I don't like to leave the plane out in weather. While I was getting my gear out of the plane they talked to the airport manager from the City and arranged to put my plane in an empty tenant's hangar for the night. My thanks for all the outstanding help. This kind of beyond my expectation service from Aviator is what keeps me coming back to GPM whenever I come to the Dallas area.

Sport pilot has arrived at GPM. Aviator Air has an IndUS T-211 (thorpedo) for training and instructors that focus on sport pilot as well. Nice folks.
