August 28, 2011 stopped for fuel. Extremely well maintained airport. They actually use an honor system to pay for fuel if no one is around. Say's a lot about aviators and those who provide services. Good prices and very friendly folks.

Flew in and tied down for several days. Olie was very helpful. There is a good hotel just up the road from the airport and a good Mexican restaurant (Casa de Oro) in Harlan. Will definitely use again when I am in the area.

Call ahead to see if someone will be there. I landed at 8.50a and not a soul in sight, place locked up. Manager did arrive at 9.05a, though no hours posted so did not know if I was out of luck or not. Don't know about weekends. Otherwise, just a small country airport, nice runway and good facility.

Stopped in for Mogas with a known starter solenoid problem. Told Olie I would be hand propping, he said, let me do it, I've got a thousand of those under my belt. The Franklin was hot and needed more that a quick pull through. Olie jump started me from a pickup and I was on my way. Great guy and a great place to buy fuel. Mogas was $3.00 on the lasted load. Thanks,

I won't tell you my favorite fishing spot but I will say this is a great fuel/food stop. And a real gentleman runs it.
