I have been flying into HVN regularly for the last 6 months. Robinson Aviation has been first class all the way. Excellent FBO and super flight school! It's been just over a year now I've been flying with Robinson, regularly. The facilities are clean, well kept and more importantly the team here is flexible. We all have very tight schedules, likely when we do have time we'll need flexibility here or there. This FBO and Flight School team has always been extremely flexible and helpful. Here are two quick examples of the quality service: During a recent flight the A&P went out of his way to address my questions. He could have been too busy, I'm sure he had other things to do, but he took the time to explain it to me in detail. Second during a recent night flight a member of line crew stayed past 8pm to ensure I had full tanks for my flight. This is a quality shop from the management that runs it to the daily folks who smile when you walk in. As a student, renter and customer of the FBO I'm proud to say this is my home base.Response from Evan Warren, Customer Service Manager, Robinson Aviation Mr. Nichol, It is always such a pleasure to have you around, renting or training. Nicest team around. They always help me out with courtesy car when I fly up for the best pizza in the country at Modern Pizza or Pepes. Modern was a recommendation from one of the Robinson guys. We fly in at least once per year. Cecilia was very helpful with directions and suggestions when we had to stay over an extra day. They work closely with us to coordinate a car and motel. We flew in two weeks ago on short notice to visit my wife's mother who was in Yale/New Haven hospital. The folks at Robinson gave us a crew car to visit her, good directions and they took good care of my plane. Bad communication from office to line crew, faxed info sheet in day before arrival for a quick turn, line crew parked us at far end of ramp and had no knowledge of fuel order.Response from Evan Warren, Customer Service Manager, Robinson Aviation Mr. Flowers, I am deeply apologetic for the line crew being unaware of your fuel load. As you know, we pride ourselves on responding to your fax requests and providing first-class, prompt service to all our customers. It has been our experience, however, that using flight-planning websites to fax requests have not been entirely reliable, especially if the receiving fax machine is sending or receiving another transmission. I assure you your last experience is not typical of Robinson Aviation and I very much look forward to your return. Flew family down to New Haven for a 3 hr visit with family. Robinson staff was very friendly and had us on a tie down and in a crew car within 15 minutes of landing. The ability to borrow the crew car was an above and beyond service and made our trip down possible. I flew into New Haven last Monday. The services are superb. The lineman, as soon as I got off the plane, informed me that somebody was waiting for me. I flew back on Friday. I found the aircraft neatly tied down and the tanks were filled, as I had requested. It was a pleasure to deal with all the staff at the airport that kept asking me frequently if I needed any assistance, especially with my bags. Thank you Ken Robinson for making crew van available to us little guys! Flew in today for my $100 pizza at Frank Pepe in little Italy section of New Haven. Forty-five minute wait, but worth it. Linemen perfect! Cones all around my Piper for protection, printed directions to the restaurant, spotless facilities. Fast, competitive fuel service. What a difference 15 months makes. Robinson Aviation is now a morgue. The hangars are empty; the tie downs are nearly empty. Most of the friendly faces that were there for years are gone. The only thing left is the GREAT radio shop. And gone with the airplanes is the once great attitude of the employees. Robinson Aviation looks like a miserable place to be based out of. Response from Evan Warren, Customer Service Manager, Robinson Aviation Mr. Reidy, I am deeply saddened to hear your disappointment in Robinson Aviation as of late. It is an unfortunate tell-all of the economic situation in which we all find ourselves that tie-downs have been vacated as owners have relocated to what were once vacation homes, mainly in Florida. As the aviation industry lends itself to high turnover, I am also sorry to hear you have not seen some of your old favorites. I can assure you, however, if you stop in on a regular basis, you will find the current staff are of the highest quality, extremely energetic and friendly. Everyone who works at Robinson Aviation is an aviation buff; a point on which we pride ourselves. While I cannot speak for the T-Hangars, I can assure you our three hangars are full. I wish you all the best and hope to see you at Robinson in the near future! Do stop by soon to see improvements to our flight planning room and pilot's lounge! -
