We arrived at KHWY on Tuesday, March 29 late but Mike was there with our rental car and parked us in transit parking. Mike took care of the car paperwork, tied the airplane down, and fueled it later. He pointed us to an excellent motel in Warrenton with decent rates. When we got ready for departure on Sunday, April 3, I found two missing screws from the wing root fairing on our 1947 Bonanza. The weekend attendant was very helpful in taking me around the airport to find two screws. Once I attached the fairing, we were on our way. Picking up our IFR clearance just required a phone call to Potomac Approach to get our clearance. It was a very delightful stop that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a GA airport outside the DC SFRA.

I own a Christen Eagle biplane based at Warrenton-Fauquier. Mike Andersen is the most accommodating and friendly airport manager I've met in over 40 years of flying.

Coming to the DC area... Why not stop at Warrenton - We recommend it! We stopped for fuel and ended up spending the night! A very active and welcoming airport Manager Mike Anderson really makes the place hum.... He let us use a hangar.. And the airport car... And could not have been nicer. The airport's location offers a great opportunity to see even more of the DC area. We asked instructor Paul Gardella of Aviation Adventures to fly with us ... We spent about 1.5 hours in and around the SFRA and into the FRZ - including a landing and tour of College Park Airport and Museum.. The oldest airport in the country. It was a great trip and we learned a lot from Paul... I highly recommend it!

Warrenton has become a regular stop for us for several years. They always seem to have some activity either in progress or in planning to promote general aviation. When we left yesterday they were preparing to start their international learn to fly show. The Stearman parked next to me looked ready to go, along with several other aircraft giving rides already in the pattern.

Flew in right after the HUGE snow with a THREE SHIP formation of the KEYSTONE FLIGHT of Central PA. Snow was cleared, and piled high, but that was in the NOTAMS, so great airport management for notifying everyone. Great facilities and parking - good fuel service. All in all, a great stop. Thank you airport staff!

Easy gas and go. Was met by the line crew after shutting down and tanked up with 100LL. Airport was busy with acrobatic flights. Would definitely stop again.
