- The Alexis Park Inn is an "aviation theme" hotel, located directly adjacent to runway 25 in Iowa City.
- Owned by Jay & Mary Honeck, both private pilots based on the field in Iowa City, the Alexis Park Inn & Suites features 1, 2, and 3 bedroom luxury suites, most with jacuzzi hot tubs in the rooms.
- The hotel is an aviation theme suites hotel, with each theme suite remodeled to reflect a different era of aviation history.
- For example, the "Wright Brothers Suite" is decorated in an "early days of flight" motif, and has a full kitchen as well as a hot tub in the suite! From your balcony overlooking the pool, you will have a view of your plane parked on the ramp at KIOW.
- The "Memphis Belle Suite", "Red Baron Suite", "Stearman Suite", "Blackbird Suite", "Constellation Suite", and "Amelia Earhart Suite" are all 1-bedroom suites with Jacuzzi hot tubs, each one decorated to the appropriate era!
- The "Pan Am Clipper Suite" is our beautiful honeymoon suite, decorated to reflect the luxurious 1930s flying boats era, with a hot tub in the bedroom.
- Many other aviation suites are complete, with others being added monthly. Eventually all 27 luxury suites will be remodeled to reflect discrete periods in aviation history!
- With the University of Iowa and the Amana Colonies nearby, your stay will be a pleasant one in Iowa City!
- All fly-in guests have free access to our courtesy van while they're staying at the inn! They can buzz around town, or back to the airport, and all we ask is that they put gas in it...
- Pilot guests are eligible for our "IFR Cancellation Policy", which allows pilots to cancel right up till 6 PM without penalty if conditions along their route of flight drop below VFR minimums!

Had a great amount of assistance from the FBO when I had aircraft problems. Took a good part of an hour of their time to help get me back on my way to Kansas after the FBO was closed in the evening. Thanks for your help!

Great place to stay, wonderful owners. I was doing some flight training at IOW from out of town and stayed overnight for a couple nights to take advantage of good weather. Breakfast delivered to your room and they have Microsoft flight sim with a full simulator in the lobby...

Came into IOW true IFR on the way to Oshkosh (true IFR = I Follow Roads in the Subaru) and attended the great Saturday night party preceding the Sunday Oshkosh arrival. Stayed in the Apollo suite and I've gotta tell you (having worked on the Apollo project for a few years) they got it 100% right. One of the highlights of the "Oshkosh Experience" every year. Looking forward to 2008.

We stayed at Alexis Park Inn on our way to Oshkosh on July 21, to coincide with their pre-Oshkosh pool party. The entire hotel is virtually an aviation museum with pictures, news clippings, airplane parts, and aviation posters and paintings everywhere you look. It is a sure delight for anybody with an interest in aviation or aviation history. If you weren't interested in airplanes before checking in, you will be by the time you leave. Jay and Mary's enthusiasm for flying (both are pilots) comes through in every aspect in this hotel. The meeting room even has a flight simulator for guests to "fly" at no cost. The simulator has a realistic cockpit and has the scenery projected onto the wall for a true to life flying experience. We went 300+nm out of our way to check out this hotel, and we are very glad we did.

Flew into Iowa City over the Memorial Day weekend, and had had great service that was friendly. Staff is friendly and rental car was at the Airport and was ready when we arrived. Fuel price was about the norm for this day age. Will be back in the future visits!

Absolutely amazing! Jay and Mary (both pilots and airplane owners) have decorated their Inn and Suites with not only aviation memorabilia, but actual aviation history. Original and historical items adorn every inch of the lobby and the hotel's aviation themed suites. Be sure to check out a book from the HUGE aviation library in the lobby! Our family was looking for a weekend aviation destination so we gave them a call. Jay and Mary met us at the airport Saturday evening then drove us to a local brew-pub for a great dinner and some delicious beer. I won't go into all the details about their aviation themed suites, please see their webpage for that, but I will say that there is a suite for every major era of aviation. Prices are very reasonable, the value and hospitality can't be beat by any chain. As fellow pilots, Jay and Mary know exactly what pilots desire and require. We've already made plans to return!

Stayed at the Alexis Park Inn on our way to Oshkosh this year and had a great time. I've known Jay and Mary for a couple of years now and they are great people and wonderful hosts. They'll come pick you up from the airport and make sure that your stay is most enjoyable.
