A wall of weather 20 miles to the south forced us to make an unplanned stop at Lakeland on a trip from Panama City Beach to Miami. Landed about 7:30 PM and the people at Landmark Aviation were very hospitable while we and another Miami-bound plane waited for weather to clear. Beautiful facility and everyone (including the tower) was extra nice. Thanks to the line crew who recommended a restaurant and hotel within walking distance if we needed it.

This is always a good refueling stop on the way to south Florida. Hopefully, a new restaurant will reopen in the terminal and give us another reason to fly to Lakeland.

With an unexpected stop requiring a car rental the staff was extremely helpful and had the car parked at the plane before I had my belongings out. Returning the next day, I turned the car in and stayed at the airport hotel for one night, they gladly handled all of my ground transportation with their courtesy van. Fuel is a bit pricey but they are friendly and did everything but my preflight for me.

Wonderful, friendly service from line guys and desk gals. Fuel is overpriced for this neck of the woods, but the beautiful FBO terminal and friendly faces make up for it.

I flew from Tucson to Lakeland for Sun N Fun 08 promoting the Air National Guard's website dedicated to midair collision avoidance. I obtained my rental car from Enterprise which operates from the very nice FBO. This was the most expensive place for gas on my trip from Tucson. After paying $3.65 near Dallas, it's tough to recommend this airport for folks needing gas. But, the FBO is nice, clean and has free coffee and popcorn.

In Lakeland for Sun n Fun. While the volunteers for SNF are untrained and out of control, Steve Leidigh at Landmark is a breath of fresh air. Knows what he is doing, runs a tight ship, and is just a super guy. He made a real problem in ground handling by SNF into a pleasant experience. Great FBO, great facility, great personnel.

Flew to LAL today for breakfast at Tony's Airside, an excellent restaurant for the last 21 years. Line personnel told me they abruptly closed 3 weeks ago but had no other info. New Hilton Garden Inn across the street offers an easily walkable alternative, but you don't get Tony's great view and outstanding service!

Telephoned before arrival to inquire whether they would fuel my plane at night at the south end of field. They advised they would, and suggested I call them on Unicom a few miles out. When I landed and taxied to south end of airport, their fuel truck was already there and waiting for me. Excellent service. I continue to use Landmark for all my fuel needs.

Stopped by while building cross-country time from KLEE. Great facilities, friendly staff. I'll definitely be back to try out Tony's Restaurant.

Arrived on 03 November 06. Was greeted by a friendly line staff. (They even helped up load our bike back in the plane) They have Enterprise rental car at the FBO and our car was waiting for us. Tony's cafe has some great food, and the only problem we had was making a selection, as there are many to choose from. Although their fuel prices are higher then the other FBO, they do discount fuel $.25 per gallon on Saturdays and Sundays. They waive the first night's tie down with fuel purchase and then its only $10 a night for a PA28. Over all a pleasant experience and I will come back.
