Air West RAN OUT OF FUEL after putting nearly 900# in only one wing and less than half my fuel needed. The most unfortunate part was after their mistake was their reaction. Obviously I had a problem and am delaying my passengers until I fix the fuel imbalance, in addition to paying $500 more at the next FBO. Instead they were sitting drinking coffee not offering any help and didn't appear to care at all. I understandably asked for a discount given my increasingly careless service and they weren't willing to offer anything! I called the GM Larry and he had the same attitude. I wasn't going to push the issue seeing as how I was getting zero help. I didn't even get the $.30/gal off we get from purchasing thousands of gal/yr with Air West. Don’t' expect much from this FBO they lacked the only two things an FBO needs to operate FUEL and CUSTOMER SERVICE. Great airport and people, poor FBO and managementResponse from Larry Kuebrich, President, Air West Flight Center We do appreciate your OPINION, seldom have we run out of Jet A fuel, but having a very small storage capacity (2000 gal), it can happen. AWFC is rapidly approaching its 25th year in service, one of the longest on the Front Range. We attribute our longevity to professional, friendly customer service with very competitive fuel prices. As Sean indicated, he would have paid $500.00 more at another FBO. He tried to pay with a credit card for his fuel bill, all were declined. When he tried to leave, the aircraft would not start, (at his request) we used our power bunny for a jump-start - AT NO CHARGE! As you can tell by the comments on AirNav, AWFC's feedback is overwhelmingly positive. For those future visitors to AWFC, we hope you will continue to appreciate our excellent customer service and lowest fuel prices on the Front Range. Thank you for your kind comments.

Thanks Air West! In twice last week in our TBM 700 to drop off/pick up friends. Rental car was brought to airplane before we even shut down. Quick, friendly service. When I returned for the pick up we did not need fuel but did use their "power bunny" cart. Not a real GPU, (rather a specially designed 28V battery cart) but we got a quick, clean start, which saved us a lot of time and hassle.

This was our first visit to KLMO. Air West made sure we WOULD be back. KLMO is located in the shadow of Long's Peak and in a gorgeous valley. After landing at sunset and parking at Air West we were greeted with our rental car keys and welcome note in an after hours mailbox outside, pre-arranged with the friendly staff and Hertz. Our stay at RMNP was accentuated by the ease of arrival and departure through AW. Amazing after-hours flexibility, laid back atmosphere, no ramp fee and cheap SS gas at an uncontrolled field. All things every airport should offer! Thanks AW, I'll be baaack!

Nice ramp with plenty of tie downs. Small FBO/Flight School operator. SS Gas was cheap. Enterprise will deliver car to FBO, but make sure you call in advance with your arrival time due to the 20 minute drive to the airport to drop off your car. You can leave the car at the airport when you depart. Hertz also has cars available, but at about twice the rate. Lots of parachuting activity to the south of the runway. Pattern is north side only and entered only from the north due to this activity.

Air West is a very friendly FBO where you are instantly welcomed. If you are picking up a rental car, they can make sure you get the keys after normal hours. (Hertz was great to work with and offered a good AAA rate.) Comfortable lounge area, wifi availability, clean restrooms, good fuel price, and lots of activity on the flight line make this a great stop. Check out the collection of model tractors at the front desk for an extra bit of fun!
