A great little Southwestern Wisconsin airport along the Wisconsin River. Airport and diner are indeed open even though the main Runway is being repaired through September. Runway 18-36 is open, 2000' long in excellent condition with clear approaches from E, W, and South. Landing on 18, just descend on a base leg, turn close in final, and use your short field skills. (Easy go-around if needed for perfection!) SS gas pump is easy to use, equipment and pilot lounge in great condition. Mark and even the nice lady supervising the runway repair crew were super helpful to me at the SS pump. I really felt welcome there. (Diner is open for breakfast and lunch most weekdays. Call for details.

The diner is open! It's under new management and called "Sam's Airport Diner." Food and friendliness are as great as ever!

The diner is open again. It is called Sam's airport diner and is open everyday except Wednesday. We tried it out yesterday and the B & G was outstanding.
