Incurred a surprise $25 call-out fee for fueling on Saturday afternoons or Sundays. Grudgingly filled the tanks.

Stopped for fuel on 900 mile cross country because of price. Pulled up to terminal looking building with no pumps in sight. Tried to call Unicom to figure out where to go before shutting the twin down. No answer. Sat with engines running long enough to call the wife to go on AirNav to get a phone number to call them to find out if there was a pump to park by or a truck. Tried Unicom a few more times while waiting. Wife finally got number and I called and guy answered saying he heard Unicom but was on the phone. Hmmmm? On the way back across the country was going to stop again. Called on phone and left message during business hours to see if I could get after hours service. Never got a call back. Went somewhere else to buy my 100 gallons. Fuel price descent but they need better customer service skills.

Arrived around 9 pm on a Friday. To my surprise folks were still around. I was given directions to nearby motels and the courtesy car. TEP's downtown looks like the best place to eat but there are plenty of other options, including an excellent Mexican place recommended by the FBO. LXN is an excellent stop.

Stopped in Sept. 7 for fuel. There was no fuel available. The ramp in front of the terminal was torn up and barricades were everywhere. Make sure you call ahead before stopping here for fuel. No one was manning the terminal, but it was Labor Day. They should at least have Notamed the "No fuel" situation. Response from Nathan Masten, Lexington Airport Authority Please be advised Fuel is Available at LXN, but in order to receive AFTER Hours Service or Service on a holiday Please Call Ahead or Call the Numbers Posted inside the terminal. Also Be advised AFTER Hours Service Is Not Guaranteed.
