Signature Flight Support

Midland International Air and Space port is midway between Midland and Odessa. An inviting city that is easily accessible. Midland International is the closest airport to Big Bend National Park which is home to desert wildlife and the prominent Santa Elena Canyon, which was carved by the Rio Grande and features steep limestone cliffs.

Landed in a light 4-pax retractable single this morning - it's a Saturday and pretty busy. The line staff noticed us well out on the taxiway and marshaled us promptly to a close-in spot & into wind. Patiently waited while three of us unloaded and politely took our requirements down. Evelyn, at the counter is so pleasant and helpful. Offered us food, water, use of comfortable surroundings (everything was clean and they had snacks, cold water - appreciated on a 100F day). The minimum fuel to avoid a handling fee was quite reasonable - probably only 2 hours flying time in a Cessna 150. Evelyn made checkout pleasant and fun and we were on our way. The fuel caps were installed correctly, yay. Thumbs-up to Signature at MAF.

Desk staff simply couldn't care less. Zero regard for timely processing of your outrageous facilities fee and would barely speak to me when I had to say "good morning. How are you?" First. They DON'T care. This place is a monopoly.

Signature Flight Support people at MAF are awesome. They go over the top to provide pleasant friendly service with a smile. You can tell they really like their job and boss! Great job Jeff Miller, General Manager at MAF!

I've been coming in here for a long time and have never really had a bad experience. Most recent was on April 6 and could not have been treated any better. Met promptly at the line for parking even though it was busy, gave a fuel order that was completed as expected, rental car available as planned. Everyone was pleasant and attentive. Departure arrangements were met as requested - all in all everything was handled professionally and without any drama at all. Good job, guys.

Was parked promptly on a busy morning and was met at the aircraft. It's a busy FBO and was packed with inbound and outbound crews and pax but they met my needs without any issues. The short order grill (Mela's Kitchen) has a small menu but was clean, quick and good food, saving a drive off the airport.

Want to get parked into the wind on a windy day? Don't plan on it, and don't worry they will get exasperated when you try to park correctly. Want fuel with weather coming, and no other airplanes on the ramp? That's ok, they're not in a hurry either. Signature disappoints again. At least the CSR was kind.

From David McVinnie on 06-Aug-2016

Stopped in for a break during a part 91 training flight. Ordered fuel as a courtesy but not enough. Had to buy 50-gallons or pay a $170 ramp fee. Not negotiable, discounts thru corporate only. Finally gave us 40-cents off of a price thatís 200% over what's available at other nearby airports. Nice facility but empty. Go figure.

From Rick Bartmas on 14-Jul-2016

There is almost never a lineman available when you arrive, and there is certainly not one available when you leave. There are a few CSRs who are pleasant, but most who are just grumpy and have little time to help. Very discourteous on the phone and worse in person. Don't expect to get service if you plan to get service there. The FBO operator has changed a number of times, but the service has remained the same.

What a difference this place has become since it was Avion in the past. You can immediately notice the entire staff's courtesy and willingness to accommodate, all with a friendly smile. Big kudos to everyone, and also thanks for the Manager who made sure we were treated at best!

From Daniel Gonzales on 21-Apr-2016

I was on a helicopter cross country going back to the factory at Grand Prairie. I stopped of in Midland for the night and the ground crew was waiting to marshal me to a space away from the planes. I was greeted by CSR Lydia Gonzales who treated me like a VIP. I would definitely recommend Signature. Their employees are top notch and I'll definitely be returning if my travels bring me back that way.

From Trace Lewis on 08-Oct-2015

I used to come here 5 times a week with my last job and figured the poor service might have been because we were regulars and had no other options. Now with the new job, we still have no other options at MAF and the service is still spotty. The LST supervisors have always been good but the younger guys seem to be a revolving door and someone is always in training in the ramp

Usually when I fly a small prop plane to a large airport I don't expect much. However, Landmark was very nice and gave me first class service even though I was in a small experimental aircraft. They waived the hangar fee and facility fee with the purchase of fuel. Although the fuel was more expensive (understandable, they have more upkeep fees than a small untowered GA airport), it ended up saving me money since the hangar was waived and they had a shuttle to take me to the hotel. They also have a restaurant inside as well! I've always had a good experience with Landmark aviation and I'll continue to be a customer!

From Josh Sims on 11-Aug-2015

Landmark's GREED has taken what once was my go-to FBO in the area to wait for my passengers to complete their meetings. After coming here for years, I now find I no longer have the CHOICE to support a good FBO - I am now REQUIRED to fork over money, whether I want to or not, whether they deserve it or not, whether they improve the facilities or not. Congratulations Landmark, you lost my money.

From Larry & Norma Armes on 02-Apr-2015

Despite being very busy, this FBO gave us great service, even though we were just a PA32 in among some very impressive big iron. Line crew guys were so professional and helpful. The girls at the counter were very efficient and friendly. We feel the fees we paid here were very fair for the excellent service we received at a large, busy airport. The restaurant inside this FBO is so good. The food is great, prices are very reasonable, and it is so convenient for a quick turn around.

From Peter K Anderson on 13-Mar-2015

Arrived on a very busy Wed afternoon. Reminded me of a busy day at Love Field. Landmark had everything running like a clock. Three people helped me my aircraft and instant friendly service inside. The found me a room at MCM Elegante at a considerable discount. The MCM picked us up and drove us all over town like a private chauffeur. Returned the next AM to smiling faces and big thank yous. Will definitely use Landmark next time this way. It is such a joy to travel and be cared for by helpful, friendly people.

From Jason Andrews on 13-Mar-2015

After much confusion trying to educate the night girl at the counter the difference between a 12, 500 airplane and a 16, 000lb airplane, I gave up and paid the $325 ramp fee. OUCH! One quick call to a very friendly manager sorted that out. The line guys are the best here, but this place has gotten FEE HAPPY since Landmark took over. Miss the Avion days.

From Michael Coyle on 02-Jan-2015

We were flying through the area between Christmas and New Year's, and wanted an airport with a restaurant on field. I called Landmark, and was told that there was a restaurant in the FBO building and that yes, it would be open on Monday, 12/29. On landing, we find out that the restaurant is closed for the holiday, and instead of an apology, we get with "buy 10 gallons of fuel or we hit with a ramp fee." Plus there's a $5 "security" fee no matter what. Worst FBO around.

From Cecil George on 28-Dec-2014

I picked up friends to go to KSRR. I was offered either a $65 ramp fee or buy fuel at $6.80/gallon. I won't be using Landmark again.

From William R Gilliam on 19-Nov-2014

I arrived MAF 11/17/14 about mid day and was not met nor parked, but just wrote that off as them being busy. The following evening I returned for a drop off late, and was informed that I was required to pay a $325.00 ramp fee or buy 140 gallons. I was in a Merlin 2B and had just fueled SAT so did not have room for 140 gallons. I pleaded for mercy and they were indifferent. I paid their ramp fee and made it clear that I would never return. I use Landmark in BTR and they do not enforce a policy like this. Consider yourself warned. Landmark Aviation in MAF was the absolute worst service I have ever experienced anywhere.
