Used Heartland Aviation for a week while at GATTS for flight training. Gordon is a very good A&P. Good hourly rate. He replaced my pressure pump and we visited about several other maintenance items. He seems very knowledgeable. It may be a bare bones facility but it is the best maintenance for miles.

I can't thank Gordon at Heartland enough for his help last weekend. I fly a King Air E-90 and was unable to depart Abilene, Ks after dropping off passengers in the evening. My battery wasn't putting out enough voltage to start the engines. Abilene has no GPU and I was unable to find a replacement battery. I spent a few hours calling every FBO and shop with in 200 miles. Gordon took the time to locate a battery they had recently removed from an E-90, charged it up and made arrangements for me to pick it up on Sunday. It worked and I was on my way. He even called me on Monday to make sure I was able to get back home. I will always make it a priority to patronize Heartland when in Manhattan. Kelly O'Neal 12-19-11

I landed at KMHK on a Sunday to drop off a couple of dogs at the main ramp. When I tried to start my plane it had developed a problem that wouldn't allow a start. The FBO where I was didn't have a service department so I called Heartland in desperation. The owner/mechanic answered and said he just happened to be in but was leaving soon. He offered to come over and check my problem to see if he could do something about it. Turns out he was able to solve the problem and I started the plane. Without his generous offer to help I would have been stuck there. Adding to the urgency was that my plane ran out of annual that night so if I didn't get home that day I would have been faced with obtaining a ferry permit the next day. My thanks to that gentleman for his help.

Fantastic visit. The fuel is readily available and reasonably priced for self-service on a controlled field. The folks at Heartland promised to move the plane indoors in the event of any weather coming into the area. Access to the field was fairly simple as well. Would certainly stop again.
