Had to stay overnight due to weather on Christmas Eve. The staff were very friendly and offered a crew car. The fees (imposed by the county they said) were $10/night (they gave one night free for the holiday) and $8 landing fee (This was for a small single).

Just wanted to say how happy I was with the staff at Atlantic on my recent trip to Sacramento. I had the unfortunate experience of my nose wheel tire going flat in need of repair. They immediately put me in touch with Mather Aviation and provided me with a crew car while we were down. I have used Atlantic both at San Jose and Mather and they are easy to do business with. I hear complaints in here about ramp fees but they can be worth it. Great facilities and customer service are worth it especially when traveling with your family.

I flew my Bonanza A36 into KMHR Atlantic for a meeting. The rental car I had called for was driven right to the plane. The linemen guided me into a parking space and tied the plane down. They offered me a ride and asked if there were any services I needed. My purchase of 15 gallons of fuel waived the $40 facility fee. (I think the minimum amount for the waiver is 7 gallons.) Gas was almost $1/gal. more than my home base, but I thought it reasonable for a big city airport. Overnight was $10. I was impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Arguably a bit expensive, but my Sacramento hotel charged me $17 for self-parking the rental car. So $25 for Atlantic's services doesn't seem out of line in this case. Easy in; easy out. Great controllers. I will go back.

Been to Mather often for maintenance. Had to stop and pick up relative for family medical emergency. Thought I would try Atlantic with a quick turn. BIG MISTAKE. $120.00 for parking on their ramp regardless. With such a nice modest airport with incredible room it's too bad that big name FBO greed applies to a half acre. I'm a Pro charter pilot for 20 years and will avoid Atlantic as most of these posts agree. Come on Atlantic..

Planned to fly to another airport but because of the rain and it being dark, we opted to land here and taxied to Atlantic Aviation. Two line men (Don and John) met us out in the rain and took care of us right away. The plane was fueled, baggage was handled, and a crew car given in no time at all. Very impressed with the service.

Started out flying to lunch. Once we were turned away from Auburn for being "out of food" we thought we could walk down the street from Mather to get a bite. Once we found about the $40 dollar ramp fee (for our little piston) and the other fees we just got back in the airplane and went home hungry. Bad day for flying and not going back.

I previously avoided the $40 'Facility Fee' by purchasing 5-10 gallons of gas. Last week, I stopped at KMHR to stretch my legs and pulled up to Atlantic. I spend weekends in Sacramento every few months, so I inquired what the fees were should I choose to park for a weekend. The single-engine fees were: $40 facility fee (waived if you purchase gas), $20 drop off fee, and/or $20 overnight parking fee. If you're not savvy to the fees in advance, I imagine you could get hit with at least 2 of these charges should you not plan to get fuel. Since I was only there for 20 minutes and I inquired about the fees, the lady at the desk waived the fee(s) and I was on my way. I agree with all other comments: the staff is great, but the fees/monopoly are not. If there is an alternate on the field with Mather Aviation, I will try Mather Aviation next time. If I need gas, I may use Atlantic again but will most likely use another Sacramento-area airport in the future...

I have been in and out of Mather for years and never paid a facilities charge at Atlantic or previously when it was Trajen. Having read the comments before going this week I wasn't surprised when I was told there was going to be a facilities charge although I was just there for a few hours and rented a car through them. Rather than pay the facilities charge I had them fill the plane to the "tabs". That should have taken 15 - 20 gallons. I was charged for 42 gallons at the rather ridicous price of $5.63 a gallon. I commented the plane could not have taken that much had it been filled as instructed. I walked out to the plane and was met by a lineworker who wanted to verify how full the plane had been filled. My gauges said it was near full and upon visually inspecting the line worker said the fuel level was "way over" the tabs. I will not make the same mistake again.

I spoke to a very helpful representative today, and she believes the $40 or 15 gallon deal is pretty much standard for all Atlantic Aviation FBO's nationwide. This is a nice feature so we know what we will be paying without having to make a phone call. Atlantic offers 24-hour service so that seems like a small price to pay to me. That said, it might also be nice to have some free parking somewhere on the field for folks who don't need service and don't have a big budget. Monopolies are never good. In my case, I'll look forward to the nice folks at Atlantic to take care of my passengers and me with style and grace.

I won't argue that the new $40 handling fee is unwelcome. However, I will say that Atlantic Aviation seemed to earn it on my last visit (9/28/09). Set up my slot a week prior with Katrina, who was very cheerful and professional. With the visit, Atlantic allowed me use of their unmarked crew car (read - not a van, and actually a very nice car too) for a four hour event I was attending in town; every other FBO in town insisted on me going to a car rental agency (cost-$80) due to the time involved. On taxiing in, the lineman was already there at my designated spot as was the desk rep with the car; no last second scrambling of an individual out to meet the plane. Staff gracious, all smiles, and helpful. Arrangements for the after-hours return of said went flawless, and the lineman even went out to remove the chocks; normally, it's a solo trek to the plane and I toss those chocks to the side. The new fee is a bummer, but from my personal experience that night, I wouldn't call it robbery.

Flew in to MHR on 7-25-09 and parked at Atlantic. I informed the desk employee that I would only be here one half hour to meet a friend inside. She asked me if I was picking up or dropping off a passenger. I stated no, I was meeting a friend here. She said I must pay a $40 " FACILITY FEE" I then taxied my aircraft to Mather Aviation, they have free (friendly) parking.

Skyway Robbery! Last time I was in (January 31, 2009), there were no "facility" charges. Today, May 31, it was $40 unless I purchased 15 gallons of overpriced avgas ($5.48/gal). My home airport, KSQL, charges $4.32/gal. Be forewarned!

Atlantic Aviation is still charging a $40 "facility fee" in addition to their overnight parking fee of $10 for a single engine aircraft. This was as of May 2009. The fee would be waived if you bought 15 gals of their high-priced fuel. I'm going elsewhere.

I called ahead on 5/15/09 and asked what the fees were for parking overnight. Jennifer asked if I would be using any services - I told her I wouldn't. She told me it would be $10. I flew in on 5/16/09. I asked the girl at the front desk how much it would cost me to park overnight. She told me $10. I checked out today 5/17/09 and was told there was a $40 "facility fee." I protested, but was told that was in addition to the $10 parking fee. They waived it when I bought 16 gallons of 100LL at $5.25/gallon, which I didn't want since that filled my tanks and it's 100 degrees out today. So my $10 overnight stay ended up costing me about $36 in fuel surcharges. It's a shady way to do business.
