You could not ask for a better FBO or more friendly people. They literally come out with a red carpet and put it next to your door when you taxi up. And the service only gets better from there. Clean attractive shop with all the amenities. Prices are a little high but VERY much worth it. You can't find better.

I stopped at Modesto on the way to Salinas from South Lake Tahoe on Sunday. The service was exceptional. It was still early in the morning and I asked the lineman for recommendations for breakfast. Not only was the recommendation excellent, he offered a crew car without me asking for it. My friends and I also enjoyed the company of his dog (Tilly?) that was in the FBO that day.

All the Cessna 180's at Frazier Lake Airpark are and will support the Mogas at Sky Trek Aviation! Just sorry the rest of California can’t learn from you! Thank you

I called the day before an overnight trip to ask about tie down fees, taxi, etc., and was told to call on their Unicom freq. (132.0) 20 minutes out, & they'd call a cab. I did so, they did so, but it never showed up, so they took me to my motel in their van. It was their idea, unexpected, and very welcome. The linemen were professional and helpful, both on arrival & departure, and I was sorry I didn't need fuel.

Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting Eric Bear of Sky Trek at the self-serve MoGas pumps. Eric said that it isn't clear if Sky Trek is going to continue selling MoGas. Therefore I urge everyone with STC's to support the last airport in California that sells MoGas. It should also be added that Sky Trek is a first class FBO that caters to all forms of aviation.

Flew in to drop off a passenger when they were very busy. Line guys apologized for the (very short) wait and the service was terrific. Had me filled up and on my way quickly. Very friendly people.

Dropped in for fuel on a saturday morning so there wasn't too many around. The one guy I dealt with was very professional and friendly and soon had me on my way. The facilities were pleasant and clean. The tower guys were also quite helpful in directing me right in to a parking spot.

Thank you for offering MoGas for our Rotax engines in our light sport planes. I look forward to meeting you and will tell my associates at Light Sport Airplanes West at Salinas about your MoGas. Can you tell me about which brand you have, the ethanol content, and confirm 92 octane.
Response from Eric Bear, Sky Trek Aviation Gary Grant, thank you for your comment. The supplier is Shell Oil, according to the paperwork for the load the fuel is ethanol free. The octane rating is 87. Please feel free to call me with any concerns you may have at 209-526-1320. Thanks again.

I've flown into Modesto for several years now for training, recreational flights and picking up Angel Flights. During each visit, my little 172 and I have been treated to superb line service--even when they had biz jets on the line and at 0-very-dark-thirty! They've helped my passengers, given directions and even provided a place to park a car when there was no obvious financial reason for them to do so. As for mogas, yes it is inconvenient for everyone--including the FBOs. (There are good reasons why so many airports DON'T and won't provide mogas.) Sky Trek is a well-run FBO; let's encourage their kind of operation!

It is a shame that Sky Trek has to purchase a large quantity of mogas and that they are stuck with that price when gas prices are going down. I can't understand though, the pricing at $3.59 when mogas never got that high. Today, ethanol free (Shell) costs $2.91. It is worth paying 0.68 extra? I would like to point out that Sky Trek is very helpful and an excellent FBO especially when not dealing with their mogas pumps. Thankfully, they are carrying mogas.

Not happy with mogas price from $2.69 to $3.69 gal. Informed that last tanker was $.10 less per gal? Got info from employee!

Recently, I have worked with Sky Trek to use their 87 Octane mogas in my STC'd Cessna. If you are interested in using their mogas service you must provide Sky Trek (Erick Bear) your STC. You must sign a waiver regarding the use of mogas. You can have a credit card on file, or open a credit with Sky Trek. It took 3-4 days to accomplish all this, including a visit, several phone calls and a fax. However, the next interesting phase begins. Finding the mogas pump is difficult. The pump is located on the south east side of the field, closest to the end of Runway 10R. It is midway along the ends of several long hangers near the edge of the property. There are no signs to direct you nor are there restrooms or other facilities. Furthermore, there is a difficulty in that the fuel hose is too short to fuel normally. Sky Trek explained that they are not allowed to put a hose on that pump that will reach both wings as a result of EPA regulations for taxable car gas. (Part 2 below)

(Part 2) Ways to fuel: Taxi each wing up to the pump or get help and lift the nose wheel over the curb so that both wings could be fueled without further taxiing. I am considering getting a hose to slip on to the end of their hose to reach my fuel tanks. All of this is a challenge. However, at this time some major airports are charging over $5.00 for 100LL and most others are charging $4.30. I also learned that northern CA Shell stations sell non-ethanol enriched 87 octane that I can use. Today Shell is $2.89 at my location. At Sky Trek, I paid $2.69 which keeps flying somewhat affordable for me. It is easy to blame Sky Trek for these difficulties, but they are the only ones providing this service to pilots. In my dealings with them they have been very friendly and helpful. They said they are working on finding a legal way to get a longer hose. Hopefully, pilots with STS's for mogas can encourage and support Sky Trek so that they will continue to provide this service.

I have used Skytrek for over 3 years every 2-3 weeks. They are professional, friendly, and most helpful. Crew cars are available for a few hours with large fuel purchase. I recommend them. Fuel prices are about the same as FBOs that don't provide cars.

Don't let the comments about mogas discourage you from enjoying a terrific operation. Sky Trek is a first rate, full service facility in every respect. The staff is friendly and helpful. Service is immediate. In many visits to KMOD over the past 5 years, I have never had to wait for fuel or for an oxygen refill even at night, after normal business hours. The facilities are clean and modern. Sky Trek is also generous with their courtesy cars and in providing secure auto parking for patrons and passengers. The fuel prices are higher than average, but this kind of service isn't free. And it doesn't vary according to the price of your airplane. The service and courtesies that Sky Trek extends to pilots and passengers are a rarity, and much appreciated.
