First time to this part of the country and was pleasantly surprised. Upon landing we were greeted on the UNICOM frequency and instructed where to park. Rental car was at the ready and the staff very helpful with maps etc. Upon returning, we were greeted by a very well behaved and beautiful golden retriever. Plane was fueled and ready to go. Great FBO.

Next week, I make my 4th trip into MQI in the last year and I just completed making the arrangements. These folks are always very pleasant and helpful. They now have plenty of reasonably priced hangar space for visitors so my Saratoga doesn't have to sit outside in the heat and weather. Gas is still reasonable. MQI is one of my favorite beach destinations and I look forward to another excellent experience next week.

I have been going to MQI for about 8 years to vacation out at Rodanthe. Never a tie down fee. They pull the rental car right up to my plane on arrival. This year I had a MAG failure while running up to leave. The maintenance on the field (not affiliated with the FBO) could not help me right away, so I kept the rental car and drove (yuck) back to Florida. The folks at the FBO were very helpful and accommodating. No fee to leave my plane there. I returned 4 days later... Put a MAG on and was ready to go. All the guys at the FBO were nice and helpful. They said, "See you next year". Great place...

Very nice facility, top notch team. Thanks to Stacey, Brian and everyone for making our trip excellent. Had a very nice minivan for three days and no ramp fees for our multi-night tiedown. Smoke from a nearby swamp fire hampered viz occasionally while we were there but the FBO is a good place to hang out while we waited for the wind to shift. Convenient to the outerbanks and a great fuel stop if you fly into Kill Devil Hills, highly recommend Dare County.

We toured the Outer Banks in our J3 Cub the 1st week of May and stayed overnight at Dare County. The winds can be challenging there and they have great tie-downs for it. Special thanks to the staff at the FBO. Brian and Rich were very helpful in local information of flying around the Outer Banks and directing us to a good place to eat for dinner and breakfast with the courtesy car. We hope to return in the fall and stay longer.

Great airport and FBO. I tied down for two nights. No tiedown fee with gas purchase. Very friendly staff. Great place for cross wind practice, since despite two runways, the wind seemed to be 45 degrees to each.

Landed Dare County, Manteo, MQI on 31 October. Found the staff exceptional; my aircraft placed in a hangar, car on the ramp waiting for us - fantastic people! This is one beautiful town to spend the weekend at. Nancy and I thank the Manteo Airport Staff for a wonderful experience.

Tied down my Champ at Manteo for a week's vacation at the outer banks. Manteo Airport could not have been a better choice. The self-service fuel was reasonably priced and the ties downs had sturdy ropes to cope with the strong winds. The staff was friendly and watched my little Champ for me, even adding chocks during a big blow. A good place to keep your plane while you visit the outer banks of North Carolina.

Arrived on 8/1/2010 in our C210 and stayed a week with no parking fees. Great service from the staff. They totally took care of coordinating our rental car with Enterprise and allowed us to drive it onto the ramp for loading/unloading. Island aviation took care of replacing a tire for me and it was seamless and reasonable. Busy place on a summer weekend, but they still provided great service!

It is always a pleasure to visit this OBX gateway. The staff is always helpful and courteous. Rental cars are available from Enterprise and a local operation at the FBO. Both have been satisfactory.

Arrived in a KingAir on an early afternoon with no one to park us (not a big deal) we called ahead to see if they would bring the rental car out to the plane and they wouldn’t. Once inside the staff was very helpful to get our pax on their way though. And they set us up with a rental car for the overnight supper fast, also the fuel prices were good. All in all, not Excellent and not poor...Just average. I look forward to going back but I will have to fetch my own chocks.

This is a beautiful facility in a highly desirable vacation destination, so I expected the usual -- indifferent staff, high fuel prices, etc. I'm happy to say that I was quite wrong! Line staff was great, fuel prices were more than reasonable, and the place even has a little aviation museum dedicated to the interesting history of Outer Banks aviation. They used to bomb U-Boats with Stinson Reliants! I confess I'm a sucker for stuff like that. A very nice aquarium is in easy walking distance. My traveling companion had to talk me out of taking a biplane ride. We'll be back!

No parking fees for 4 nights. We rented a car and bought fuel. Let us take the car right to the plane to unload. Helpful Unicom operator alerted us to some incoming weather while we were inbound.

Now this is my kind of airport! My wife and I flew here from Charlotte (EQY) to vacation on the Outer Banks for a few days. John and Steve were helpful and friendly. Overnight fees for our Cessna Skylane RG would have been only $5 per night, but were waived b/c of fuel purchase. BUT, fuel was a very competitive $3.80/gallon for avgas. Very good price at this time. I wish all airports were this friendly, this fair, and had this good of a value. Oh by the way, free wireless internet access which I used to flight plan with my laptop for the return, and we got a rental car from here on a third day which Steve had brought to our hotel.

Stopped in for fuel after our trip to First Flight. Nice facility, nice museum and flight planning/filing area, convenient self-serve fuel. Don't think anybody in the FBO even knew the five of us were there!!

Went to MQI for another "ocean fix" for the weekend. The rental car was ready when we arrived and the drop off of the car worked fine for our after hours departure. It would be nice if a code for the bathroom could be installed for after hours departures, but the service and the facilities are great for getting to the Outer Banks. We will return soon.

Visited mid April, and although the weather was 'blustery', the hospitality was warm. Thanks guys for the great service, including avgas, car rental, and B&B recommendation. We will be back. David & Roberta Seneca C-FJMM
