One of the most desirable FBO's I have been to. Friendly service and great accommodations for transients. Thanks Jason for making our stay great. We will be back as soon as we can.

So sorry to hear about the closing of the restaurant :( We stopped on our way from KFZI (Ohio) to Myrtle Beach for fuel and food and had a great stay and a delicious burger.

Response from Jason Davis, Airport Manager, Blue Ridge Airport

Stopped in on our way to and from BST from HSV. As always, great service & fuel prices. Sad news - the restaurant is closed...

From Jon Wells on 08-Sep-2011

OK, we are going to take care of the newness with the restaurant. The new owner is having a Grand Opening of the Hangar Cafe on September 17th...Let's help her out and show we appreciate these types of businesses. If you can make it, come on in. We are going to bring a ton of planes and pilots. Great fuel prices a plus...

From Steve Christensen on 04-Sep-2011

Wow, what a find by chance. We were running from Tropical Storm Lee enroute from New Orleans to Birmingham to Concord, NH and needed a rest/lunch/fuel stop. We got it all and more. What a hospitable airport manager, eager to please. Convenient restaurant on the field. The restaurant is under new management and still struggling with newness but is still a great spot.

From Bart Smith on 25-Apr-2011

I left my plane on the ramp for four days. The local birds found it on day two. Jason and his crew noticed the extensive nest building happening under my cowling so they went to work by towing my plane to the maintenance hangar, removing the cowling, removing the birds handywork and even washed the soiled prop. All of this without my knowledge. Fantastic service. They obviously care about the pilots that land at the airport and especially care for their respective aircraft. Great job guys. Thanks.

Stopped for fuel and a meal on our way back to PA from FL. I agree with the other comments- well-maintained airport, great fuel prices, very friendly and personable staff, and a restaurant. What more could you wish for?

From Felix Pena on 01-Jan-2011

I frequently stop at Blue Ridge on my way to Georgia from Maryland. I wish I could move there and base my plane at MTV. Jason and Lora are truly great people and manage the airport with great attention to service and hospitality. The fuel prices are the lowest around. They just installed a new very modern self serve fuel station. They have a nice restaurant on the field with outdoor eating space in the warmer months. This is a great airport run by professionals!

From Harry Moore on 08-Dec-2010

This airport is everything that is right and good about aviation----extremely friendly folks like Jason, nice atmosphere, excellent fuel prices, great BBQ right on the field with indoor and outdoor seating---- these folks may not have invented southern hospitality but they sure perfected it! I include a stop here whenever possible!

From Kirk Groves on 13-Nov-2010

Stopped here again after such a good experience last time and I was not disappointed this is an awesome fuel stop!! Good prices a great airport manager and a good cafe make it my stop of choice when coming home from Atlanta

From Jonathan C. Guy on 12-Oct-2010

I've been here before, and was delighted with the service the first time -- just had trouble with weather the last two times I tried to use it as my fuel stop between HBG and PNE. Luck was on our side this trip, and we were able to use it both ways. The restaurant is excellent (nice BBQ takeaway), and the airport staff is warm and accommodating. Add that to great fuel prices, why stop anywhere else?

From Alan Bradley on 07-Oct-2010

The maintenance shop was quick to solve a problem for me. Would definitely recommend. Beware though the rising terrain to the west. It's not hazardous, but the sight picture is different from we flat land folks expect. The airplane climbs, the VSI says it's climbing, but the land climbs too.

From Lou Luttrell on 21-Jun-2010

I stopped there for the first time yesterday, and although I had read all the good reports written previously I was still overwhelmed by the fantastic treatment given by everyone there, from the courteous girls at the restaurant & especially Jason Davis, the Airport Mgr, who even fuels the airplane for you. Can't recommend them enough. I know we will stop anytime we get the chance. PS OUR 2 dogs were also welcomed, very pet friendly!!!

From Kirk Groves on 17-Jun-2010

Great stop good price on fuel and friendly folks!

From Bruce Bailey on 16-Jun-2010

Got stuck in KMTV because of weather going to IMC. I am only VFR, on the way back from the beach. They were very nice and hospitable. They even let us wait for our ride in the airport after close. Jason the airport manager is a great guy. Had to leave my piper Cherokee for over a week until I could get a ride back. No charge. Could not believe it. They have the cheapest fuel around. I now use them for my southbound fuel stops. Thanks guys.

From Nancy Harrison on 18-May-2010

Service and fuel prices compare well above other airports in region. Hangared our spare plane there almost a year, flew in and out. Great folks, nice stop.

From Stuart Boblett on 16-May-2010

Best kept secret on the East Coast. Beautiful airport, nice approaches, great fuel prices, restaurant adjoining FBO and excellent aircraft maintenance. The director of maintenance Mike Smith and his staff have been maintaining and inspecting our Citations along with many others for years. Piston or turbine, I feel that their maintenance and service cannot be beat they always appreciate their customers and treat them fairly helping operators control costs. Call Mike or the facility manager Jason for your next service, fuel or just lunch, you will not be sorry.

From Allen McMahan on 30-Apr-2010

Not much to do in Martinsville but the personnel at the FBO were very friendly especially the person that works at the counter. They made the time fly by while waiting for my passengers. And they have delicious coffee...

From Gary T. Ciampa on 21-Mar-2010

Hey folks, traveled to KMTV over the weekend, very beautiful area to fly into and around. Facilities are in excellent condition, Jason and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Looking forward to going back next weekend for lunch at the renovated CAFE and watching the NASCAR race over at the track.

From Jon Wells on 15-Feb-2010

If you missed comments on the Runway Cafe, I came in on February 14th to eat...CAFE CLOSED...But don't worry, the airport has taken it over, is currently renovating the entire cafe and is getting a new company to come in. I am looking forward to a new cuisine, and keeping this establishment going. There are not that many around. Great fuel prices, and they pump it for you, still under $4.00/gallon as of this date...Thanks guys for supporting GA.

From Ron Natalie on 06-Jan-2010

Fuel now very good price. Pull up to the pump at the fuel tanks if you want 100LL (truck is for Jet A only). Restaurant on field. Very nice and prompt service.

From Darren Tilman on 09-Dec-2009

Stopped for fuel on 12/1/09. Attracted by the lowest price within 50 miles and a guaranteed AirNav price. Fast service for fuel by a nice guy who later identified himself as the Airport Manager, Jason. I fly back and forth to this area 4 times or so a year and will make this my regular stop. Strongly recommended!

From Ward Marsh on 10-Sep-2009

While I was weathered in during a coast-to-coast ferry flight, Jason and his staff saw to my every need (and whim) with the kind of professionalism and friendly hospitality that aviation (and our country) needs more of. From the pastoral setting of the airport to the well groomed and equipped FBO and Runway Cafe, Blue Ridge has it all. Best of all, Jason (the airport manager) is also a corporate pilot who treats his customers (corporate and GA alike), as he would like to be treated. Blue Ridge will be a return destination for me the next time I'm in the area!

From John Parker on 07-Jun-2009

Jason and the crew at MTV are true professionals in the real sense. During a recent extended stay due to weather, Jason and the staff were able to provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service. All of our requests were met with a positive can do attitude. I have had the opportunity to visit many FBOs throughout the country as a crewmember and on personal trips. I have never had such professional services. The spirit and attitude of the staff is very evident. Great job to Jason and the staff. Keep up the great service.

From Laura Tweed on 30-May-2009

Jason and the crew are the BEST! Week of May 25th 09 has been rainy IFR WX I'd go WAY out of the way to experience the southern hospitality and friendliness at KMTV! Thanks again!

From Jim Jeans on 29-May-2009

I flew into MTV on an IFR flight plan, expecting to arrive after their published 6PM closing time. I didn't realize I was going to be cutting it close and started calling Unicom to find out if they were open. After receiving no answer, I was worried they had closed up and gone home. Instead, they were watching me on flightaware and waited patiently for my arrival, just in case I needed fuel. I was very impressed and they really saved me a frustrating after hours fuel search. They have great fuel prices, great customer service and a very busy restaurant. I love this place!

From Craig Johnson on 14-Apr-2009

Give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. Friendly service, good prices, great people and good food.
