Once again, very good experience. Landed very late. Came back the next morning, Chris was busy, so I said I'd stop by later to see him. As I was running up, he contacted me on the radio to see if I needed anything. Great stop if you're going to WAATS in an airplane. It's only about a 3/4 mile walk.

Thanks to Chris for his gentlemanly conduct and offer to fuel us up, no extra fees mentioned, off the truck at $5.50. Evergreen is a fascinating, heavy industry operation although some aspects are a little secretive and their security people can be touchy.

When we flew into Pinal the place seemed eerily deserted. I could hear someone wrenching on a plane in the Evergreen hangar but no one came out to ask us about fuel or anything. They pretty much ignored us. Interesting airport to stop at but don't expect much service.

I am new to this Tucson area. Having been in aviation over 50 years, I rode my motorcycle around to check out some local airports. When I got to Pinal Airpark, I was met by a guard at the gate. I was told this is private and to turn around and leave. I asked why, again I was told it was private. This was an unpleasant experience!
