Flew in today to have breakfast with fly in friends. Help was very friendly and professional. Only could take 5 gal of gas. No problem gave my liberty great service. Great facility.

Wife and I flew commercial the 1st time down, looking for a retirement home. Stopped by Landmark, met Mike, one of the line guys, he is awesome. We found a horse property 10 miles west of the city. I flew my C172 down the 1st weekend in October, and was greeted with great welcome to Ocala. The folks here are great, and I am glad I picked KOCF as my new home as I know I will be treated as well as I was treated in Kenosha, with great respect. I will miss Kenosha, BUT NOT THE WINTERS!

Lesson learned. Stopped in for breakfast on one of the most beautiful flight days I've ever seen. The facilities at Landmark are gorgeous and the staff is very friendly and helpful. However.... I asked the line guy for a top-off without checking the fuel prices for full serve, BIG MISTAKE! My jaw dropped when I got the bill for $6.76 a gallon for 100LL. I checked the prices on the AirNav website when I got home and there it was! Do I feel like a sucker or what? It's not their fault, I'm the one who didn't do the research, but I'll never buy fuel there again.

Came across Robert Towe's comments about being 'treated like a terrorist' by the line personnel at Landmark. I would like to say that I applaud the 'old grumpy line guy' and line technician for being vigilant, and the manager for supporting them. As a corporate jet pilot (C750, C650, C56X, C500) I expect the line personnel to control the ramp and protect the security of my aircraft. The team at Landmark did just that. Most pilots respect and follow rules based on common sense, safety, and security. I say good job Landmark! Look forward to stopping in someday soon.

Had Engine failure on my Cessna 421, FBO was awesome to my family and me. They even let us borrow the Pilot Car for the nite until I could make arrangements for mech assistance. Also helped with discounted Hotel. As to the Mechanical help I received, I was given B&P Aircraft Maint. Local on the field to assist. The owner's name is Bruce and he was just as friendly and professional as the FBO. If you are in the area and have any kind of mechanical problems call Bruce @ B&P for the best service in Florida!!!! His number is 352-671-1555. Thanx again Landmark and B&P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice FBO- very friendly - under renovation - looks good. We landed there on March 22, (N85WM) in route to KGGE - Tailwinds Cafe has very good "homemade" food, line staff is very friendly and helpful. Worth a stopover. Thanks!

Currently under construction no pilot lounge and noisy, restaurant was good.

From Rod Kellogg on 16-Feb-2011

The personnel both on the line and inside are great, but the facilities are unacceptable for crews due to a remodeling project. I'm all for fixing the place up, but please have a crew rest area instead of the two couches in the main lobby. Unless you find the sound of a tile saw soothing don't plan on spending more than 8 minutes at Landmark in Ocala. Two thumbs down to Landmark management for not having more foresight.

Counter lady welcomed us to Ocala, was very friendly. Small but nice facility. The new tower is open 119.25, ground 121.4, ATIS 128.125, Landmark FBO 129.375.

From Joseph Colonna on 05-May-2010

I look forward to landing at Ocala for the good food at the restaurant and the bubbly personality of Cindy; the helpful girl behind the counter at Landmark. She lights up a cloudy day.

Our family of 7 made an unplanned overnight visit and called Lisa at Landmark on Unicom from 8, 000' and asked for a Hotel room and Rental car. She had both handled before we shut down the plane. Everyone was professional and courteous at the Landmark FBO. I would recommend it. Note: The tower was unmanned, it startled me on final when I noticed it and thought maybe I had missed calling the tower.

Stopped in to drop off a dog as part of a Pilots N Paws animal rescue flight. I appreciated the professional attention from the linemen, the quick turn and the helpful folks inside who made the rescue pup feel at home. There was even a dog in Christmas finery behind the counter to greet the rescue. Thanks for the PNP fuel discount! I look forward to visiting again.

I am a base customer of Landmark at OCF. The security of our aircraft is the most important service we receive at the FBO. We thank the line service employees for questioning individuals "snooping" around our aircraft. I admire the fact that the employees have a "safe rather than sorry" approach, as outlined in many TSA initiatives. I understand Mr. Towe's statement from his side, but as a customer at the base in question that operates more than 15 aircraft on the field, (including all the aircraft in the hangar in question), I feel that the employees responded exactly as they should have, and would continue to ask them to help in matters of security. Line personnel is our first line of defense against people with bad intentions, and their actions in this case were in our best safety interest as pilots. Thanks again, to the manager and her staff, in this matter and for all the world class service we receive at this facility.

From Robert Towe on 30-Nov-2009

Sunday the 29th, after breakfast at Tailwinds, my co-pilot and I went out to the ramp and were treated like terrorists by this old grumpy line guy. He threatened to call the police because my co-pilot was walking about the ramp. Do they not want any customers because it sure seemed like the guy didn't want our business back at Landmark Aviation. Well, we were going to fill up the plane but we only got 10 gallons and decided to get fuel elsewhere due to the hospitality of the ramp guy... I would fire that guy if he ever treated my customers' like the way he treated us... And guess what, we won't ever go back to Ocala or much less any Landmark Aviation if that is the kind of service that they provide!! Pilots Beware...

Response from Tracine Anderson, General Manager, Landmark Aviation
Landmark takes great pride in the safety and security of aircraft on our ramp. When Mr. Towe and his co-pilot arrived, they were found under a GIV on the ramp looking up in the wheel wells. They were asked not to approach any aircraft other than their own. When they finished eating at the cafe and came back on the ramp to depart, they were again found at the GIV and again asked not to approach other aircraft. The co-pilot also entered our corporate hangar and was taking pictures inside the hangar. This is when the line technician on duty did threaten to call the police if they did not abide by the restrictions on our ramp. I fully support my staff in this decision.

Thanks for the great services provided for a Cessna 150. Great little restaurant and an excellent lunch stop.

From Vernon Prevatt on 01-Nov-2009

Nice folks. I was there for 4 nights Oct 20 till Oct 24 in my ancient C172. Folks were friendly. I got one night's credit for fuel when I used the self serve pump. Fuel was approx. $3.85 per gal. Also got a discount voucher for 50 cents per gal discount on my next trip.

From Larry Olson on 07-Oct-2009

Stopped by OCF last week and was absolutely appalled by their high ramp fees. $45 for a small twin, or buy their overpriced fuel. Fortunately, they don't charge if you visit the restaurant, which I did. As a rule, we shop FBOs carefully when we dispatch our larger corporate aircraft and have totally written this one off. Go into GNV or LEE to meet our people. Guess what they get for a King Air????

Response from Tracine Anderson, General Manager, Landmark Aviation
Mr. Olsen, I am sorry you feel our fees seem high. As with most FBO's, we do need to charge for the few that utilize the facilities without purchasing fuel. Please note that our self-serve fuel is $3.85 compared to GNV @$3.85 and LEE@$3.88. Our facility fee for a twin is 20 gallons or $45 to waive. In comparison, GNV is 35 gallons or $35. I feel these are fare and reasonable for our services. As you mentioned, we do not charge if you are flying in solely to patronize the Tailwinds Cafe, or if you are having maintenance or avionics work performed.

Landmark Aviation is actually a landmark of poor service. Being here makes me feel like I am on crazy pills! This is my 2nd bad experience here and I will not make this mistake again. Desk people were rude as could be. They were much more interested in making their lives easy than being helpful. Avoid this FBO.

From D. French on 26-Jun-2009

We stopped in on June 25th in a Gulfstream IV to pickup 3 passengers at Landmark Aviation and were on the ramp for less than 1 hour. We took on NO fuel and did not need ANY services (ice, coffee, papers etc.) Fuel was over $5.00/gal to avoid the ramp fee of 500.00! We talked to the manager and he lowered the fee to 350.00 but still too high. An airport and FBO to avoid!

From Jim Handley on 20-Apr-2009

Flew down to attend a formation flight clinic being held at OCF. When ready to depart, the fuel truck was being used to top-off a half dozen or so AT-6 Texans so I taxied my Cessna to the SS pumps. Couldn't find a stool or ladder to reach my high-wing gas caps (I have an older Cessna without even the foot pads on the strut) and when I asked one of the line guys where I could find one, he said the manager didn't allow a ladder at the pumps for insurance reasons. I ended up standing on a trashcan to reach my gas tanks - a little more precarious than a ladder would have been. I don't know which is more sad - an FBO afraid to use common sense for legal concerns or the perception that the kind of pilot willing to dirty his hands by fueling his own airplane would also sue over something so ridiculous as falling off a ladder which he personally placed in position.

From Dave Heyburn on 20-Mar-2009

I stopped yesterday at OCF with a King Air, picked up one passenger and was on the ramp for less than 5 minutes. The facility fee was $175.00! (We spent longer paying for the ramp fee than we did on the ramp). I will avoid this FBO/airport in the future, as they have a "captive" audience and take full advantage of it.
