Short summary: very friendly staff. High avgas prices ($6.55 vs $5.30 in Charlotte). Landing fee even for quick turn. Very high ramp fee ($40) waived if buy 7 gallons of high avgas. I would rate excellent if not for higher than normal fees. Brief: Stopped here for half day trip in my Cessna 182. Overall, positive experience, and very friendly staff. But landing fees, ramp fees and avgas are all higher, compared to other southern airports that are similar sized or bigger, Raleigh-Durham, and Charlotte for example. CLT charges no landing or ramp fees for quick turns as directed by City of Charlotte and Aviation Director. Airport Authority in Norfolk allows FBO at ORF to charge for quick turns.

Great FBO. They have several hotels nearby with good rates and a nice facility inside. They offered a ride to and from the hotel, and let us use the crew car for a short visit to Virginia Beach.

Another good stop at KORF. Friendly folks as always. They let me use the crew car to ferry my Mom home, saving the cost of a taxi. Very much appreciated.

Agree with comments below, they could abuse their monopoly but instead they offer great service, reasonable prices and a great experience. Highly recommend if you're looking for a stop off in the area. Juanita was great!

I continue to get excellent service at this FBO, most recently a week ago. I usually purchase 10 gallons, with an AOPA discount no less, and don't seem to rack up any fees. Counter and line staffs are first rate. Despite a monopoly position at a fairly large airport, with few other convenient airport options, they seem to like small fry like my Cherokee, and the prices seem reasonable considering the value and location.

I emailed Landmark a few days ahead requesting a ride to VA Wesleyan, and Lani wrote back that she would take care of it. When we landed, she drove us there. It felt like we were VIP's, and my passenger was very impressed. They were great, but Lani was the best. She went above and beyond the call of duty. If you are going there and need something, contact them ahead of time and they will accommodate you.

Flew in today in my Cherokee 6-300. Very good service. Line service was waiting to help upon arrival and at departure. Car was waiting as promised. Overall, a very good experience.

Agree with the previous comment. Came in to Landmark in March in a friend's Citation and back again in late April in my Lance. Same great, courteous service both times. Got me a car overnight for $34.95 with Hertz. A well managed "winner" of an FBO.

A well run operation staffed by some super nice folks. Not the cheapest around, but I saw lots of value here. I stopped here on the return flight on a FL to CT trip. My plan was a fast refuel, weather check, etc... The Landmark folks treated my C182 like a Gulfstream. I wished I had stopped here on the way down, as the field I chose for a lower fuel price was in a different league, and not a better one. The airport itself was a quick in and out, well organized, easy to taxi, and the tower folks were very nice. I always appreciate on-field clearance deliveries, etc... I was in and out of here in 15 minutes! Thanks!

Flew my Harmon Rocket in for a two-night stay. I was offered an AOPA discount on gas, paid a tiedown fee of 7 per night, and paid a landing fee of 3.00. No other fees were charged; I found that reasonable and competitive. Both the line crew and inside folks were very helpful and professional. I was offered free transportation to the local hotel and assistance with my rental car.

Stopped in to ORF for the first time as part of Virginia's passport promotion program: to get my "stamp." Landmark staff was all 100% competent and 100% friendly and polite. Did pay some small <$6 landing fee (TO THE AIRPORT), but Landmark waived a $35 "handling fee" for a 10 gal or more avgas purchase. FBO has free hot and cold drinks, and is nicely outfitted. I understand that they have to collect a few bucks somewhere. I recommend this Landmark facility and staff without reservation.

Stopped by Landmark this evening to pick a buddy up for a ride. Bought 13 gallons at $4.32 per gallon. Note that they still give a discount for AOPA members, even though that program no longer exists with the AOPA credit card. I paid a landing fee of $5.98 (for a Cherokee, who knows how they calculate it); don't know if that fee would have been larger without a gas purchase. Didn't seem too horrible to me. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and fueled my plane right away. I also had a good experience with maintenance here a while back, when I blew a tire after rolling over some FOD. The repair was done on time and on budget, which is surprisingly rare in the aviation world. Nice facilities, too. I like this place and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Stopped for lunch on 8/8/09 in F33A Bonanza- perfectly enjoyable - staff was very accommodating. Airport charged $12.00 landing fee - All other fees waived with minimum 10-gallon fuel purchase. Will visit again.

Stopped in for a short pit stop Sat. Jun 20th, 2009 with my Bonanza V-35.Imagine my surprise when they asked for a $40.33 landing fee! No one suggested that a savings could be had if I bought fuel. Not very friendly and apparently trying to keep light General aviation away - STAY AWAY

CAUTION CONTINUED!!! Regarding prist. As per Glenn's post on 3/12/09 I saw no improvement. After pumping 15 gal into the plane it was determined no prist was flowing. Their second jet truck was summoned but would not start. The original truck was brought back with cans of prist. That effort was successful except for squirting the stuff onto my deice boots and not giving it a second thought. Please understand that all the employees were very nice but from afar must have looked like a three stooges work at the airport clip. I know that Landmark can do better as I just came from their Asheville, NC location that was run as a first class operation.

Stopped in to Norfolk today just to get our Virginia Aviation books stamped in our huge Beech Musketeer and were hit with a whopping $40 that’s right $40 fee! After I recovered from the shock we were told that we could have it waived with a 10 gal. Fuel purchase. What a con game! Last time I stop here I guarantee it. BEWARE you better call em before you land here unless you work for AIG.

The 25-cent/gal AOPA discount is nice, BUT charging $25/night parking for a 1200lb plane is not something I would have expected. I'm not used to airports this size charging overnights with fuel purchases.

CAUTION!!!!! If your plane needs Prist you had better learn how a fuel truck and its Prist injector operates. I have now had 3 seperate incidents involving fueling and Prist here. The first one the line guy just flat out lied about it. The other two involve line service not knowing how to use the equipment and how to verify it is working properly. I hope management is working hard on this issue--but 3 incidents in 2 months doesn't seem like a good track record. At least they have a slushy machine so I can enjoy my drink during a flameout.
