Very nice FBO with a comfy lounge and pilot supplies in the back room. Would highly recommend the "Miami Burger" at the restaurant next door: Pressed Cuban sandwich with a burger patty in the middle! PGD will have an operational control tower any day now.

Called the FBO at PGD and asked to order catering. I only needed two box lunches. FBO said for me to call "BLUE PARROT". So I did call and order and they told me that they would deliver. I received a fax receipt from Blue Parrot for my charges. They charged me $52.00 for the two box lunches and $75.00 FOR THE DELIVERY FEE!!!!!!!!!...WHAT???? I called PGD FBO right away and asked how far away the Blue Parrot was to their FBO and Richard told me that they were 45 min. Away---one way---. My question is WHY would an FBO suggest a catering company that is almost an hour away from their facility! When I asked Richard this question, he put the phone down and carried on a conversation with someone else. I waited on the line for a while and he never came back so I hung up. I understand that catering is very, very high price, but this was absolutely ridiculous! I am VERY displeased with this FBO's customer service!!!!! Landed to wait-out storm-line blocking destination in Florida Keys. Checked weather, revised routing and split with no delays. Wireless access in the FBO was helpful to enable use of my laptop, as they have no otherwise available Internet access.

I stopped here earlier this week and was very pleased with the facility. The General Aviation facility is beautiful, with flight planning facilities, a nice lounge, several training facilities (I.E, pilot supplies, charts, etc.) The self-serve fuel prices are descent, but is some distance from the GA parking. Overnight fees were $5.89 for a BE-55, and are not waived with fuel. I look forward to returning in the future!

During my training for my private certificate, I used PGD as part of my long cross-country solo flight. After landing and clearing the runway, my left main tire went flat on me and I was dead in the middle of the taxi area. Within minutes there was a truck out there with air and though it took a little while, was able to taxi to GA parking. Just to say thanks I bought some fuel and had a wonderful lunch. The only thing I was no happy about was the fact that the local mechanics were not open on Saturday nor was there an after hours call out number. Had to call my home base and wait for a mechanic to be flown down to change the inner tube in the tire. Other than that, I love flying into PGD. Great people and willing to go above and beyond what is asked of them.

Stopped in at KPGD and had a "great" breakfast at SkyView Cafe. FBO and line folks are great, will do anything to assist and good self serve fuel prices. NEW ADDITION: Skyview Cafe now has a "golf cart" and will shuttle you to & from the FBO in order that you can enjoy a good breakfast or lunch. On landing, call them at 941-637-6004 and they will be at the FBO in 2 minutes. Kudos’ Ed & Carolyn---really a nice touch to your great little cafe.

Flew into PGD on Saturday. Fairly busy and planes using every runway, 9, 4, 15. The plan was to eat at the Skyview Cafe. Runway 9 was the obvious choice. This small runway 2635x60 was paved on top of the large and in poor shape old RWY 9-27. You can't go off the edge (drop off and rough - even at the runway 27 end) and you have to plan for back taxi to the runway 9 end. Information here is wrong info on this runway showing it as 5044x150. I watched a private jet taxi to RWY 4. Scary thing is that he didn't announce anything on the radio about taking off... An accident waiting to happen in my opinion. Then we have the RED area around the airline terminal just North of the FBO. This is a non-movement area. The FAA or TSA gets bent when you taxi through it. In my opinion the signage stinks and there isn't much obvious to a transient pilot that this area is for airliners use only. FBO people very friendly. No fees for this flight.

This airport is no longer user friendly towards general Aviation. They're too busy dealing with DirectAir. You have to tie-down a good distance from the FBO. The restaurant was overcrowded with airline passengers and service was terribly slow. I used to enjoy going there for lunch once in a while, but I'm going to stay away from now on.
