About Cutter Aviation Founded in 1928, Cutter Aviation is America's oldest continually family-owned FBO and aviation service company. In operation for over 80 years, Cutter Aviation operates at eight major airports in the Southwestern United States. Cutter locations in Arizona (Deer Valley and Phoenix Sky Harbor), New Mexico (Albuquerque) and Texas (Dallas Executive, McKinney, El Paso and San Antonio) and Colorado (Colorado Springs) provide a wide range of services to transient and based aircraft including fuel and FBO service, maintenance, avionics, new and pre-owned aircraft sales and charter and aircraft management.
The Phoenix, Deer Valley, Albuquerque, and Dallas Executive facilities are full-service, fixed-base operations, with El Paso, McKinney and Colorado Springs providing line services for transient aircraft. San Antonio provides new and pre-owned aircraft sales as well as maintenance.
Looking Back Continuously family-owned for eight decades, the company originated as Cutter Flying Service Inc., in Albuquerque. William P. Cutter envisioned a business that would serve the fledgling aviation community - and the resulting enterprise exceeded his expectations. The company survived the Great Depression, and, at the outbreak of World War II, became major pilot training facility for the military. In 1947, the company began its long-standing affiliation with Beech Aircraft Corporation. Since that time, the Cutter name became, and continues to be, synonymous with major and emerging aircraft brands ranging from piston singles to light and medium turbine aircraft.
Looking Ahead Over the years, Cutter has maintained a position of leadership in the general aviation community by consistently expanding its services and its locations. Cutter Aviation, Inc., opened its Phoenix operation in 1959. The El Paso facility opened in 1982, Deer Valley followed in 1997, San Antonio in 1998, Dallas in 2002, and McKinney and Colorado Springs in 2006. Cutter remains strong due to an unwavering commitment to customer service, customer and employee satisfaction, and business practices rooted in our core values of respect, trust and integrity.
Company President Will Cutter reinforces this: "These are key ingredients to a formula that has kept us at the forefront of the industry. They have helped us establish a reputation that we are all proud of. Our values have served us well for eighty years, and without them, Cutter would be just another run-of-the-mill service station for airplanes."

Super Cutter service. Had intended to be at Cutter on Sunday evening Jun 26 for an RON. Got stuck enroute and Cutter took care of my hotel reservation cancellation like true Champs. Got into Cutter on the 27th and they were excellent, refueled and gone with cart service to and from the plane. Considering this is an Archer II I was impressed.

Another positive Cutter experience. Parked overnight and the only charge for a light piston single aircraft was for the 14 gallons of fuel I purchased. They also gave me a ride to and from my motel. One of my passengers in the morning was suffering from breakfast food poisoning and the people behind the front counter gave him some sick sacks just in case.

From the line guys to the desk staff - nothing but top notch performance. They treated my wife and I like we were their best customers and our C-172 like a Gulfstream. Welcome truck was waiting as we came in, fuel and a windshield wash as requested, and very clean/modern facilities. Alex and Megan gave us rides to & from our hotel, which is greatly appreciated. These two fine ladies deliver Class A customer service with a smile. How does Cutter hire and retain such gems? I am sure other FBOs would love to know their secret. ATC - Even in our little Cessna, the approach and tower controllers welcomed us in. Nothing scary about this airport as long as your communication skills are sharp.

I flew into KPHX for a seminar. Cutter took great care of my Malibu and me. Getting in and out of the GA side of KPHX was very easy, and the staff was very polite and efficient. Nothing but good things to say. Thanks.

I had never flown into Sky Harbor (usually going to Scottsdale). My conference was only 4 miles from Sky Harbor so I thought I'd take a chance on the "Big Airport" hassles and higher costs. Although the fuel is more expense than most Phoenix area airports, it's still less than Scottsdale. I used Cutter's courtesy shuttle to and from my hotel and saved on renting a car. Everyone at Cutter was fantastically nice and helpful. The controllers were also friendly and helpful. A final note. When I got home I realized I had been charged a $75/day ramp fee (with the first day waived). I called them today and they immediately recognized the mistake (I have a Mirage and they charged me the Meridian rate). They refunded the difference to my credit card. First class service all around. I'll certainly use Cutter the next time I'm in Phoenix.

We visited KPHX in our Mooney for a short meeting at a nearby hotel. We parked at Cutter, the best FBO we have found in more than 43 years of flying to many locations across the country. A friendly member of the Cutter Professional Staff met us at our airplane and drove us to their modern facility where they arranged the loan of a crew car and offered us bottled water. We provided them with identification and were escorted to their parking lot and given the keys to a nearly new car. When we returned about 2 hours later we were only charged for the 7 gallons of fuel we purchased but not for the car or the parking. The entire staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. A better FBO does not exist!

After regularly flying into Cutter for at least the past 15 years, I figure I owe them a review. Cutter is about as good as it gets. Their overnight fees have been minimally increased over the years, but it's still only $25 per night for my twin. I consider that a bargain for a major Class B airport -- especially for the luxury facilities and phenomenal service. They give this exceptional service all hours of the day and night. From top to bottom, they are a class act.

AWESOME! I was in a little single engine piston, but these guys gave me service as though I was flying a BBJ. (I'm used to getting neglected at big airports, but not here). We sent one of our customers here (I work for AirShares) and he called me later to rave about the fantastic service he received as well. If you are looking for an incredible facility and incredible service, then go to Cutter. They are the BEST

Fantastic service. I was met by a Follow Me van as soon as I taxied onto their ramp. The line staff had transferred my luggage to the van to take me to the passenger terminal before I had even gotten out of the airplane. I was at my gate 20 minutes after landing. Everyone smiled and thanked me for my business. Gulfstream service for a guy in a Cirrus! I'll definitely be back!

Had such a nice experience the first time that I came back a week or so later. Rented a car at Cutter (Enterprise I think) and they were fantastic. The linemen drove the car right out to our airplane (Cessna 180), signed the paperwork there and we were on our way in minutes. Great customer service! Upon return we dropped off the keys at the front desk, paid for our $25 worth of 100LL (to avoid the ramp fee), and were on our way. Be advised there's a City of Phoenix landing fee that Cutter cannot waive. I can't recall the exact amount but it was 5 or 10 bucks tops. NOTE - if you're going to fly into PHX VFR you NEED to have the Terminal Chart. The controllers will send you to many of the points referenced on that chart - they're also in your Garmin GPS but you have to have the identifiers from the Terminal Chart to find them (you can pronounce the identifiers). Also pay attention to the transitions over PHX. You'll likely be asked to use one of them direct to a downwind/base.

Service was top notch! Flew my Cessna 180 IFR into PHX to drop off a passenger flying out on a major airline. Cutter drove her over in their courtesy van and waived the $25 ramp fee if I purchased fuel. Asked if I could purchase $25 bucks worth of fuel vs. paying the ramp fee and they said no problem. Only trouble of the trip was being #19 for takeoff amongst all the major airlines!

Called in adavance and was pleased to get answers to all my questions (some of them were non pilot -tourist related). Arrived on Saturday and the Cutter van was waiting for us by the aircraft. They picked us all up with our luggage and took us directly to the hotel. The ramp/tie down fees were waved and I was very happy to purchase the fuel from them. Our twin Cessna was treated like all the big jets that came in right around teh same time. 2 days later the van picked us from our hotel and took us back to our plane. Great Job Cutter we will be back.

After great Cutter service in El Paso, we decided to try Cutter in PHX in spite of the higher fuel price, which was almost $2 more per gallon than nearby Chandler. No regrets. Same fantastic Cutter service we experienced in El Paso. Helpful line crew helped with loading and unloading. The ladies at the desk were outstanding. Shuttle took us to downtown hotel and picked us up for the return. The great service plus the convenience of being downtown more than made up for the higher fuel price.

Everytime that I fly into Sky Harbor I have parked at Cutter. When I say everytime, I mean lately, about four times a week. There is always someone to marshal us in. Service is always friendly and top notch! There is always a crew car available or a shuttle to the terminals. Some pilots are afraid of the "big scary class B airspace" but realistically it's an easy in and out.

Another "home run" for Cutter on our latest round trip in and out of Phoenix Sky Harbor. On arrival, we were promptly met and marshaled into parking; and Enterprise auto rental not only met my aircraft as I shut down, (with air conditioner running and paperwork filled out), but also matched a great daily rate from a competitor when the Cutter team asked. On our dawn departure two days later, third shift line guy Jason was very helpful, and a great guy as well.

Cutter's departure experience at Phoenix Sky Harbor the next day on a Saturday was just as smooth and quick. Thanks to Thomas from line service, and Corinne at the front desk for the help and quick pickup at the downtown Hyatt; and to line man Steven for quick and efficient help, a local newspaper, a couple bottles of ice cold water, and even some good conversation. My aircraft was ten feet from the lobby door, fueled and ready to go, up front. Cutter's people make them a cut above the rest.

I arrived from Las Vegas (northwest) in our 33A Bonanza, but requested the south runway 25L, for Cutter Aviation. (ATIS had said to "expect runway 26 arriving from the north.") Approach made it easy with a midfield crossing at 5000', and then slipped me in with a visual approach between a couple Southwest jets. On shut down at Cutter, lineman Larry Oas was absolutely terrific, offering ice-cold water and plenty of quick help for the 115-degree arrival. When asking for the best way over to the downtown Hyatt, Larry and then Christina at the desk said, "we'll take you over." Wow, what terrific help from the Cutter team, and a great experience.

Flew the T206 in two days ago, Cutter could not have done a better job with the arrival, ramp help, rental car, etc. Even arrived 2 hours late, with no call to them on the approach, and the follow-me car met us at the taxiway and the rental car pulled up as we shut down. Nice guys & great job.

When flying a small aircraft into a big airport, it's hard to beat Cutter as an FBO. First class service for me and my Mooney every time: courteous assistance with close-in parking and luggage, an immediate free shuttle van to the downtown area, reasonably priced fuel and helpful and pleasant staff without exception. Fees for parking were $15 per night; first night waived with fuel purchase. Thanks, Cutter.

I wrote an unflattering comment about Cutter Aviation last month. I was forced to go there again this last weekend because the other FBO was turning away small airplanes during the NBA All-Star game. My experience this time around was so much better. Despite a ramp full of large jets the folks at Cutter were very accommodating to us in our Piper Mirage. I called the counter from the air and with only 20 minutes notice they were able to get us two rental cars. Cutter's facilities are nice and they are friendly.
