Stopped at POU / main terminal to drop off my daughter at Vassar. Topped off and waited for a taxi that never showed. One of the young gentlemen line guys offered to drive her. Needless to say, great service. Clearance/Ground/Tower also very professional.

I had to divert KPOU a couple of weeks ago and stopped at Dutchess County Aviation. The crew on duty was very courteous and helpful. They were able to get a rental car for me very quickly and took care of my needs. Very friendly and helpful folks with good fuel prices. I recommend them if you are stopping in at KPOU.

Arrived late on a Sunday night but Dutchess County Aviation was still open. A lineman, Matt, graciously helped me position my airplane on a tie down spot on the edge of the ramp, then helped carry my equipment to the terminal. He also called and convinced the hotel shuttle that they do indeed serve the airport. Great service all around.

Made an unanticipated stop at POU one evening due to weather at our destination. No rental cars are available after 5pm without prior arrangement. Dutchess Aviation advised no crew car or courtesy car was available, either. We went to SWF where rental cars are available.

Flew in today from Manassas with my daughter to visit a friend at Vassar. The FBO was unmanned and my calls on the frequency went unanswered. The one lineman came after some time and was very nice but the operation was much less polished than many other FBOs I have visited.

We diverted to KPOU in our Archer last Sunday night to avoid thunderstorms. We really appreciated the help at Duchess Aviation in helping us find a hotel overnight with our dog, and getting us over to the hotel. It was miserable weather but a warm reception. Thanks.

Adding to someone else's comments below. Watch for Hertz rental car at KPOU. I rented a car from them for less than 24 hours one week ago and received the invoice for 2 days. Not quite as bad as 7 days like this other person but pickup time and return times seem to be random.

With prior arrangement, John was able to get me a T-hangar for a few nights stay. Upon arrival, ground control directed me to the hangar and I was met by John and my pickup car. Fuel was very reasonable and I was very happy with all the great service I was given. This is the way it is supposed to be. Will not hesitate to return.

This FBO is located right at the terminal and is currently offering a fuel discount, which is apparently designed to increase the number of reported airport operations there... Since Tower closes at 9 PM, the FBO is offering a 60-cent per gallon reduction in price of AVGAS for every pilot who does 2 or more touch and goes after 9 PM. Not a bad deal at all.... Fuel is currently $5.71 per gallon before the discount. (Of course, it would be very hard to take advantage of if one of the touch and goes was not to a full stop, but that's up to you!) Terminal facilities are clean and well maintained and the line service guy very friendly and efficient.

With POU as my home base, I cannot speak any higher of the line crew. Great guys. Very friendly and helpful. They recently moved into a new facility at the main terminal. Much nicer place to come into and relax.

A side note to my October trip. After using the Hertz car for a bit under 24 hours, I dropped it off at the FBO, and flew home. Imagine my surprise on being billed for 7 days! I am still fighting Hertz on this. Watch out for this operation.

From Cole Loftus on 08-Oct-2007
Price went up from 4.29 to 4.61 in 6 days; call ahead. Hertz car was 1.5 hours late, had to call several times after arrival to get it that soon. Very inconvenient ground access, line guy has to drive to gate and open it, so you can drive the 1/4-mile to the FBO. Line guys were all very nice.

Flew in for lunch at the excellent restaurant not far from the field. Very friendly service. They even drove us to the restaurant because it was below 0 outside. Cheap fuel, filled while we were at lunch.
