There are a lot of nice people here that are trying to revive the airport. Fuel price is reasonable and is supposed to be available during normal business hours, but it's best to call ahead to pre-arrange a time. Let's hope this airport survives in this beautiful spot!

Arrived today to link up with another pilot for Angel Flight. Arrived at 11:00 AM and the buildings were locked. We were unable to get inside and unable to get fuel. Also cell phone service was not available on any of our services. I see no reason to return to this airport for any reason. I was able to reach New York Center on the ground to get an IFR clearance.

Wow. I have to give kudos to the authority for keeping this place open. Geography is not friends with this airport. The only thing remotely close is Black Moshannon State Park (which is beautiful), but even though it shares a boundary with the airport, the main area is a 4-mile walk. The airport and park are in a 'bowl' there's no cell signal at the airport, or in the park.

Stopped in today, December 26th, 2006, and found the entire facility locked up tight. No signs of any life at all. Really is a shame to see such a large airport just slowly wasting away.

I stopped here in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday for a bathroom break and found the place locked up tighter that a drum. We could not even get a cell phone signal to file a flight plan. It was kind of weird to see such a large airport deserted
