We stopped in for fuel and breakfast on our trip southbound. Fuel prices are good and the service is even better. The new terminal is bright and clean and Tommy looked after our every need! We will make this a routine stop for sure!

From Randall Martin on 24-Oct-2011

Very nice GA airport; very busy little airport. Becky and the whole crew at PVG made me feel very welcome and took good care of me. I will be back.

From J Wilson on 06-Sep-2011

These folks go "above and beyond" to make sure you have what you need when you arrive. Tommy Benn directed us to a good tiedown spot, came over with the golf cart then went back and drove our rental car out, and helped us transfer luggage from the plane to the car. The plane was topped off as requested when we returned. This is an easy place to fly in to -- just be aware of the location of tall towers to the north of the field. Also be aware of simultaneous fixed-wing left traffic and helicopter right traffic, which took us by surprise on our approach. Overall, a really pleasant experience -- highly recommended.

From John Wackerman on 27-Aug-2011

Flew down in July for a 2 month stay and was given a very reasonable rate on a tiedown. You can't get better service from a line crew anywhere on the east coast. I will be returning in the future on business and this will be my airport of choice. I like it when my Cherokee gets the same respect from an FBO as the corporate aircraft. Keep up the good work.

From Elliot Zeltzer on 24-Aug-2011

Returned to PVG since 12/13/2010. New terminal looks great. Tommy as usual took care of everything. Self Service 100LL is convenient and works! New runway is under construction so watch out for construction traffic. Also watch out for intersection of 28/10 and 20/2 landing on 28 has a big hump at intersection. Have planned at least 5 more monthly trips.

From Ray Sluk on 23-Jul-2011

I called ahead for time of operation and asked if they had self-serve fuel. Told Tommy that I would be there shortly after close and that self serve would be fine. We arrived 10 minutes past close and Tommy was waiting to assist. Great facility, great customer service and very competitive fuel prices.

From Thomas D. Bush Jr. on 07-Jul-2011

I've based my airplane at this airport for 10 years, and have nothing but great things to say about the facility and its people. One of the most pleasant activities I've engaged in over the years has been enjoying lunch at the Blue Skies Grille with friends and family as I watch aircraft taking off and landing in the background. I write to report that, effective immediately, the restaurant is now open on Sunday's! They also have a new outdoor patio and seating area. Come on in and check it out - you'll love the food and the atmosphere!

From Paul Pruitt on 07-Jun-2011

I stopped in today to visit family in a rented C172. After shutting down, I was given help pushing the airplane into a tiedown spot. The self-service fuel pumps are great, and the tiedown for the afternoon was free. The terminal building is new and clean. Computers in the pilot's lounge had big monitors with a printer available. My brother and two-year-old godson, both of whom had never been to a GA airport before, were waiting for me when I landed. They were made to feel welcome and were impressed with the facilities. My nephew had a blast sitting in the airplane and taxiing to the fuel pumps (I was forbidden to take him for a flight). Thanks for a memorable experience. I will be back. I did find the taxiways a bit confusing.

From Bill Surratt on 07-Jun-2011

As others have noted--unbeatable/outstanding service from arrival until departure the next morning! After landing, Tommy marshalled me over to the self-serve fuel pump with the fueling nozzle in hand...Ready to go. He also generously accommodated me with my request for hangar for my Mooney overnight, and was there at the T-hangar to personally assist me for our departure the next morning. These folks at VA Aviation Associates clearly know what we really want--top-notch service, low fuel prices, hangar options--and exceeded my lofty expectations. They will always be my stop when I travel to the Norfolk area. Great job Tommy, Dan and Don!

From Sandy Showalter on 16-May-2011

Thanks to Dan and Tommy for a great stay this past weekend! They went out of their way to accommodate my request for overnight hangar and Tommy was beyond gracious when I arrived at the airport with a big group of folks who wanted to see us off. Great new facility, great fuel prices, great rental car rate through Enterprise, and great people. Couldn't ask for more.

From Bill Doscher on 28-Apr-2011

A very enjoyable experience. 110% better with new facility. These guys have it right. We will be back.

From Bill Orellana on 12-Jan-2011

Trip to PVG for Christmas. Got caught by 12 inches of snow and ice. Tommy was great -- checked regularly on airplane, kept me informed of airport status, helped greatly in clearing frost and preparing for departure, etc. Weather cost us a day, but overall the experience was fine and service was friendly, given the circumstances. Have visited PVG several times. Will be even better with the new terminal to be opened soon.

From James H Tarkington on 16-Dec-2010

Per Management at Hampton Roads Executive Airport, the have a new deal with Enterprise Car Rental. The service is greatly improved due to Brady Howard, manager of Enterprise located in Suffolk, VA.

From Elliot Zeltzer on 13-Dec-2010

Had a trip to Norfolk and chose PVG. Airport is close to city and convenient. The folks at VA Aviation Assoc are very helpful and Tommy is the best. Fuel price is VERY low at the SS. New terminal is nearing completion and should improve the facilities substantially. The current 10-28 runway is somewhat uneven and narrow but Timmy assured me that construction on the new 5000 + foot runway is to begin soon. Also caution on taxing from fuel farm to end of 28 taxiway has no centerline and it too narrow for large aircraft. Tommy recommends back taxi on 10-28 and he will clear traffic for you. Lastly, for IFR traffic it is highly recommended that you get your clearance on the ground since ATC may not have time to give it to you in the air. Read your approach charts carefully several high towers are to the NW and East of airport. Will come back.

From Jim Hamlett on 26-Oct-2010

Great service from the guys at VA Aviation Assoc. Cheapest fuel in the area with a bonus cash back for volume purchases. Also a brand new facility being erected will really enhance the field. Highly recommended for the Norfolk area.

From Martha King on 22-Oct-2010

Really friendly folks with good service. And the fuel price is great, too! Good rental car arrangements, and it's an easy drive to downtown Norfolk. Current FBO terminal is fine, with runway-view restaurant, but they are building a new, larger terminal.

From Jeff Dangel on 28-Aug-2010

Flew in to Virginia Beach with my family in our Cherokee for a long weekend. Parking was dirt cheap, as was the fuel, and the service was excellent. Taxiways are not marked clearly at least for me. Taxiway for 28 is between the pumps and the hangars. I will absolutely come back in a heartbeat when in the area.

From Jean Morin on 06-Aug-2010

We flew down from Montreal for a vacation at Virginia Beach. Tommy Benn had reserved a T-Hangar for our four night stay for a low $15 per night. The rental car from Enterprise was delivered to our hangar and the fuel bill was super competitive. Add to this a positive and helping attitude and you have the best deal in town. We will be back! Many thanks Tom!

From Pete Martin on 19-Jul-2010

Went to visit my daughter in Norfolk. Flew into PVG for a couple of days. Spoke with Peggy before my trip and she set me up with a hangar for a couple days. People there are very helpful and professional. As I landed the line guy was waiting for me in his golf cart and I followed him to the hangar. After the plane was in the hangar he placed luggage on cart and took my wife and I back to the FBO. We even had lunch at the restaurant waiting for my daughter to pick us up. Best FBO in the area for GA!!!! This is the place I will be landing for now on!!!

From Fred Robinson on 08-Jul-2010

The airport manager, Tommy Benn, assisted me with the self service fuel (very good price) and returning my rental car and then waived my tie-down fees asking me to tell my friends about their service. EXCELLENT experience.

From Bo Harper on 07-Jul-2010

Great Stop, very friendly FBO. New terminal being built, which should be excellent when done. Parking was hard but if you know it's next to the road by Chesapeake Aviation, Yellow Dot spots, it's easy. Tie downs were there and affordable fuel in the AM. Line guy even helped with luggage! Co Pilot liked the clean bathrooms.

From Steve Clark on 12-Jun-2010

I had a conference to attend on the oceanfront VA Beach and after looking over my options, I chose PVG. While it is about 25 miles from the oceanfront, I was looking for a safe and convenient airport where I could leave the airplane for 3 nights. Upon my arrival, I asked if Tommy and staff could call a cab for me. Somehow, while I was still unloading the airplane, the cab appeared...Talk about curbside service. Helen from Portside Taxi is a regular at PVG and I expect this accounts for her familiarity with the airport and the ability to drive right out onto the field. Since I had a large amount of luggage and it was about 90 degrees...This was a real treat. I returned 3 days later and Tommy fueled me and sent me on my way, comping my 3-night stay. The friendly staff went above and beyond what one would expect. Their exceptional service will certainly be remembered the next time I fly to the Tidewater area.

From Darrell Klein on 11-Jun-2010

As others have already stated, Hampton Roads Executive is a well run, friendly and altogether nice airport to visit. Daniel and Peggy set us up with a rental car through Avis and a hangar for our bird. The helpfulness of each staff member we came into contact with was exceptional. Fuel was priced right, the hangar was very reasonable and the location great. We will most certainly use PVG when we return to Norfolk next. Good Job PVG.

From Robert Lemieux on 22-May-2010

Used PVG to get to Norfolk; much easier and significantly cheaper than ORF across the board: fuel, fees, ground transportation. Peggy (757 465-0260) provided guidance and fees: No fee for the first night; $5 each night thereafter, waived if fuel is purchased from the truck. NO OTHER FEES! Coordinated with Brady and Katie at Enterprise (757 539-7900) who had the car waiting when my family and I arrived - hassle-free processing both picking up and dropping off after hours. Overall excellent experience and will work this the same way should I travel to the Tidewater area again.!

From Jim Galbraith on 05-Mar-2010

I had a big problem one day at PVG and the crew there made it a very small problem. In about 45 minutes the crew at PVG got my plane back to flying status. I have never seen that many people pitch in to help a stranger out. First Class here. Great fuel price also. Thanks Tommy and the gang.

From Jonathan Brooks on 13-Feb-2010

Hampton Roads Executive now has a crew car! I know this was a concern for some pilots, but, no more!! A very nice Lincoln Sedan with leather and sunroof is now available for 1.5 hours to visiting pilots. The new terminal is in work and the new runway 10/28 is shortly behind it...The best gets even better.

From Edward Figuli on 20-Jan-2010

Stopped in for a splash and go at the self serve pumps. Watch out for the towers west and north of the field. Easy to get in and out. Very reasonably priced avgas. Would stop again.

From Jere Fountain - Cheyenne 1 on 06-Jan-2010

10/21/09 the folks at the FBO are top notch for a small airport. The restaurant and the owner are super. However, ENTERPRISE car rental is worse than ANYwhere I've flown. Very unprofessional. AVIS does a great job.

From Richard Lawrence on 19-Sep-2009

Excellent airport for getting to Virginia Beach waterfront, about 30 minute drive depending on traffic. People friendly and helpful, overnight tiedown $5. Fuel reasonably priced. We arrived and went to SS fuel. On unicom we were asked if we had a car reserved- we did and Jonathan brought it out to the plane, helped load and push the plane back to a tiedown. Great service. Avis rental was lower cost than Enterprise and in the past we've had mixed success with Enterprise- they charge for days that they are closed even if you don't pick up the car when the day they leave it. Avis is open daily. We used Avis and got a decent rate and the car was there when we arrived. Neither Avis nor Enterprise is on the field so reservation is needed in advance.

From Tony Rizzo on 30-Jul-2009

Flew in for a one-day meeting. The FBO was great. Friendly folks, efficient in getting us to and from plane with golf cart, despite having to tie down on other side of airport because ramp very full. Restaurant very friendly! Enterprise had car in place, but no key. Enterprise called for credit card info the next day, despite having taken imprint at time of rental. Took 7 calls to get receipt for rental car faxed the next day.

From Patrick Darby on 02-Jul-2009

We flew into PVG for a 2-night stay on 6/29/09. This airport is very busy on Saturday! 100LL was as advertised. The lineman brought our rental car to the plane and helped unload the luggage. Enterprise did charge us for 3 days even though we only stayed 2 days (As noted by previous posts). When we reserved the car they faxed us a form to fill out in advance with credit card and insurance info. They even wanted my SS# which I refused. When we got in the car there was a note from Enterprise warning the renter that unless we call them when we return the car, the rental will continue until they are notified of the return. When I called on Monday morning at 0800, no one answered the phone and my call was redirected to Missouri. The person who answered seemed clueless as to why I was calling. IMHO this is the worst place I have ever experienced to rent a car. The restaurant was nice, food was good and the view of the runway was great.

From Bruce Payne on 12-May-2009

PVG is an excellent mid-Atlantic fuel stop and my preferred stop for visiting the Norfolk area. It is night and day compared to Norfolk International, which is not general aviation friendly (IMHO). PVG has no same day landing fees and self-serve fuel (at time of this post) is super inexpensive (relatively speaking, of course). I highly recommend PVG.

From William Judge on 23-Apr-2009

Good service from the airport but pretty lousy service from Enterprise rent a car. If you want the car to be there when you land you should call just before you takeoff otherwise you'll be waiting for them to bring the car. The FBO recommends calling the location directly rather than booking online and expecting it to show up. I also got a better rate on the rental by calling rather than booking online. Parking is $5/night, first night free with fuel, and not really enforced, fuel is cheap. All in all it is a good alternative to KORF.

From David Pentecost on 31-Mar-2009

Virginia Aviation and PVG is the place to go. Friendly service and reasonable fuel prices. Recommend you go there when you are in the Norfolk area!
