The folks at Downeast Air were AWESOME every step of the way. However, WATCH OUT for ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR. We only had the car for 3 days and they charged us for 4 days even though we have proof that we only had the car for 3 24-hour periods.

Downeast is "down home" friendly. Flew in with a PALS (Patient Airlift Services) passenger who was returning home after cancer treatment. Line man was waiting on the ramp to marshall me in. They had her car waiting and rolled out the red carpet (well, red mat :) ). I had a pleasant break in the simple but functional pilot's lounge before returning home.

We've flown into Owl's Head several times in our vintage aircraft. Every time, the folks at Downeast have been wonderful! This past trip, the airport tie downs had no ropes... And the airport was unhelpful, but Downeast gave us ropes to secure our plane, and they always help us unload our baggage and drive it to the FBO where our party is meeting us. They typically cater to jets, but will go out of their way to take care of the little guy. If you land at Knox County Owl's Head, be sure to take time to visit their transportation museum on the airfield, as well as make the short drive to the Owl's Head Light House.
