Stopped by RTN to overnight our Aztec from Denver to San Diego. Keith rented us a nice Expedition for the 15-minute ride to town. Next morning we were fueled and our nose strut was refilled. All up an excellent fuel/overnight stop with excellent, friendly service. We will be back.

Stopped here for gas in my 310 on the way from Arizona to Lake of the Ozarks. We were quickly parked right in front of the building and met with smiles. Even though there is no listing for food we were treated to a wonderful lunch of sandwiches and cheeseburgers while the plane was being fueled. A wonderful visit all around. Planned on stopping on the return trip but had to reroute for other reasons. I hope to return soon.

I have flown into Pegasus Aviation KRTN several times in the past in a King Air 200. This time I flew in for an overnight stop in my C-185 on the way to Idaho. The vehicle we had arranged with Fern was planeside when we parked and Keith was tying our plane down when we got out. Outstanding service regardless of what you fly or how much fuel you buy. I highly recommend flying a few extra miles to stop here. Your business will be appreciated.

Excellent fuel stop. We were met at the pump when we landed for a quick turn. Fuel was the cheapest around. Very nice facility

Landed at Raton for a quick turn. Were communicated with by Unicom and directed to fueling area. Service and facilities were great. Recommend for any cross-country stop or for a longer visit, as low rate rental cars are available. Will stop in the future as plans allow.

My daughter and I landed our C182 there because of the recommendations on AirNav. It was a very nice experience. Stay at the MicroTel, there WI/FI works.

Keith & Fern are as genuine as they come > Great and efficiently operated facility. They were in action as soon as we touched down. Fueled and fed us, got us in the rental car and to a good motel with very nice price. Absolutely a great place to stop.

Pegasus at Raton is one of those places I just like to visit. General aviation is filled with nice people, but Keith and Fern are about the nicest you'll find. They are great hosts, and will feed and fuel you quickly and cheaply, with warmth that is so welcome after a long flight. The airport is an excellent facility with full services. Stop here if you're in the area, and you'll be glad you did.

"LaFawnduh" (N1957Z), and the Caribou/Targhee Helitack crew were based at Raton for the West Fork Fire. Fern and Keith, and Barry, (while they were out of town), did EVERYTHING to make our stay enjoyable. Of the eleven of us on the crew, every one of us enjoyed the green chili burgers... Fern did everything to make this our "home away from home"...Thanks--G-man

My Wife and Daughter and I visit family in nearby Angel Fire as much as we can. We always fly in to KRTN and are ALWAYS treated well. The facilities are very clean and the pilot supplies are well stocked. There's always some cool airplanes coming and going here. Keith and his family and crew are certainly the most pleasant, friendly and helpful that I've ever had the pleasure to deal with. They always have a smile on their faces and are happy to be there. I will never hesitate to stop there when in the area. Thanks, N551DM and family

We visited KRTN with a flight of 4 HH-60 MEDEVAC Blackhawk’s. The service was outstanding; Keith had us all re-fueled and ready to go in less than 30 minutes. The FBO is clean and well stocked with useful items. And yes, the cookies were great too! Thanks for the Hospitality!

Got stuck at KRTN en route VFR KABQ-KCOS via I-25 due to low ceiling over Raton Pass on CO/NM border. Learned great tips from local pilot: At least 8, 500'MSL needed to safely cross Raton Pass (7, 834'). If, when over town of Raton, you can't see to Trinidad, CO valley, do not attempt. Ceiling reported by KRTN ASOS should be 2, 200' AGL or greater and KTAD ASOS 2, 800' AGL or greater. If unable to cross Raton Pass at 8, 500', consider crossing via NM St. Hwys. 325/551 N/NE of Folsom, NM (30 n. M. E/NE of KRTN). Can safely transit from KRTN to KTAD at 7, 500' MSL via this method if visibility sufficient. Follow US Hwy 64 until E of Capulin Volcano Natl. Monument (see sectional), then turn N to join NM State Hwy. 325 at Folsom and follow the highway N/NE into CO. Tips: Call Natl. Monument visitor center, (575) 278-2201 or Capulin RV Park (575) 278-2921, for current conditions near Capulin. Winds/Temp/Dewpt.

Keith and Fern are first rate. I flew in with my wife and could not have been treated better. The service and hospitality was so good we decided to stop in on the way home to BYG. Cannot say enough about the service and conversation.

I fly into RTN regularly. Keith and Fern are first class and their operation should be the benchmark for other FBO's. You'll not find nicer people anywhere in the US.

I need a fast turn before the density altitude went up another foot. I think I spent 15 minutes there, and off I went with a happy smile, cold coke, and yes, the cookie. Nice folks.

Have gone into RTN now for a weeks stay while at Philmont Scout Ranch both this summer and last. Both Keith and Fern have been so accommodating and enjoyable to work with. The facility is spotless - this FBO and its staff/owners are what I would consider "the model" small FBO to which all others should strive to become.

Can't say enough good things about these guys! Fast, friendly fuel service with a clean windshield. Home cooked food, and "real homemade" chocolate chip cookies. Nice relaxing FBO would go there every trip if I could!

What a great fuel stop! Keith met us at the fuel pump and had us fueled in a couple minutes. He mentioned that even though he has operating hours posted, no one would be stranded if he or she were forced in after hours. Keith and his wife live near the FBO and will take care of wayward travelers. The chocolate chip cookies were the best.

Yesterday (Saturday) I was flying my C172 on a sightseeing trip when the electrical failed as I was approaching Raton from the north. Fortunately there was little traffic in the pattern as I approached RTN, and I was able to land without a problem in spite of no avcom or flaps. Keith towed my aircraft to a hangar and put the battery on a charger while he looked for the source of the problem. He quickly diagnosed that the alternator field wire had probably broken or come loose. He was correct, and quickly took care of the problem, and had me ready to continue on my way in short order. I have stopped at Raton Municipal before, so I wasn't surprised to receive quick friendly service. The rates were very reasonable, and the fuel price was good, too. This is a great FBO, and Fern's hamburgers are worth going out of your way.
