I based my airplane - a Cessna 340A at KRYY during Hurricane Irma. I was on the fence earlier because of some of the reviews I read but the staff at Hawthorne was just stellar! Raj waited for us to get in at 2:00 am with no charge and greeted us with a smile in spite of the late hour. They found hangar space for us at a very reasonable price and genuinely cared about our safety and comfort while we were there. During departure, Kelly and others took care of everything for us, helped load luggage and were just great all around. I would happily go back (hopefully under better circumstances) and recommend them to anyone.

Stopped here two times in four days in a C-182J. I'm usually flying bigger iron (Turbo Props and Turbines) but the staff treated me well. The restaurant on the field is only open at night but it is excellent. This is a better stop than KPDK in my opinion. Certainly faster in and out both IFR and VFR. Try it - you'll like it.
From Lynn Frame on 29-Jan-2017

My fourth trip to RYY was the most eventful. I parked my RV-8A among the bigger iron on the ramp overnight and the next morning was greeted by 28-degree temps. My plane, Sky Chai, has never been especially hard to start when cold, but I usually hangar at home here in Tulsa. Tried everything to get going and only accomplished running down the cold soaked battery. Mac from DLK Aviation responded within minutes and gave me a jump start as well as a pre-heat with an extension cord and a hair dryer! Didn't invoice me and let me pay him what I thought was appropriate. To top it off, I managed to leave my knapsack and my phone on the charger inside. The young lady at the desk responded to my call arriving home and took them both the FedEx office that afternoon. Both Hawthorne and DLK have shown what customer service is all about.
