7/22/11. Flt fm OR to WI, stopped for fuel. Even though I had called on 7/18 to verify the fuel price and was informed it was $4.41 and no price increase was expected, when I fueled up, the price was $4.98. So much for no expected price increase. As I said some time ago, simple fueling, just like at a car filling station. However, the price you pay may not necessarily be that which was quoted over the phone a couple days earlier.

7/18/11 verified 100LL price via phone to city hall. It is still $4.41/gal. Ph number for city hall is 218.894.2550. Airport Commission person, (from the city web site) is Stanley Carlson. In case city hall is closed, his phone number is 218.894.1899. City Admin gal indicated no anticipated price change in the next few weeks. Good stop to/from Oshkosh.

Good airport with a nice big ramp and an automotive gas station-style fuel pump that works very well. $3.05/gallon tonight was way lower than anywhere else in Minnesota. Good-sized and well-appointed pilot/passenger facilities.

Stopped for fuel on 8/11/09. WOW, probably the lowest fuel price in the USA!! Fueled at $2.85/gal just before the airport manager increased the price to that which is now posted, a modest increase of 21 cents/gal! In a discussion, the airport manager said the goal is to keep the fuel prices at an absolute minimum possible to encourage flying activity. What a refreshing attitude! The operation of the SS fuel system is the simplest ever, just like an auto pump, insert a CC and pump fuel, without all the cumbersome requirements to enter superfluous data! Great airport with excellent facilities. A highly recommended stop.

Great little airport. There is a small but very functional building with a/wx computer & restrooms.
