First Flight has great prices on fuel and they are there for general aviation. They provide maintenance and self-serve fuel. Nice folks they are.

I called Tom (the owner/operator/mechanic) on a Saturday morning because I had a low strut on my Bonanza. He and Ken (another member of the staff) were extremely friendly and went over to the hangar to look at it. He then came back on Monday (while I was at work) to service it and charged me a fair price. I really appreciated the friendly and prompt service!

I bought into a partnership that is based at SDM to start flight training. First flight is a "First Rate" outfit! Tom is a great guy and willing to take the time to help you. It is clear that he deals fuel at a fair rate because he paints the price on the pump so it sure doesn't jump around a lot and is less than the mid-field source. A little farther to taxi but well worth the time!!

I echo all the reviews of 1st Flight. They are very helpful, and Tom is a great guy to do business with. The following are worth noting: * If you use a BP-Chase credit card you save up to 20c/gal on Avgas. * If you are flying into Mexico (my primary destination), record 1st Flight's tel. No., so if you have a problem, either Tom can help you out, or knows someone who can (usually Juan Escalante, a certified Mexican and FAA accident coordinator). (IMPORTANT: DON'T LEAVE/DRIVE OUT OF MEXICO BEFORE NOTIFYING THE MEXICAN AUTHORITIES [usually in Ensenada] OF THE INCIDENT. Otherwise they could impound your broken bird -- it is no big deal and the Mexicans have been sympathetic in each case I am aware of [but Tom's contacts will smooth everything for you].)

The fuel service at First Flight is outstanding and the fuel price is the lowest in the area. The fuel farm is self service and available 24 hours a day. In all my years of flying First Flight has never been known to run out of fuel. There is never a need to call in advance because it is a self service pump. All those travelling to Mexico will benefit from the availability of fuel at First Flight. Great mechanic and an AI on staff. Thanks First Flight.

Did my tailwheel endorsement recently at Brown in First Flight's nice old Champ with local veteran instructor Bob J. Ken, Tom and the whole crew are friendly, helpful and professional, and the fuel and rental rates are excellent.

Called First Flight Tue at 10:45 AM 9/11/07 to tell them of my fueling requirements for Sept 14th. No Answer. They must have closed up.

Tom at First Flight is great! Very helpful assisting us with the aircraft, calling a cab, etc. Fuel prices most competitive we have found in some time. We have a son in the Navy stationed at Coronado Island, & will be back to visit him soon. Will definitely stay with Tom at First Flight again. First Flight located far west end of the field on the south side.

First Flight seems to consistently beat the most local airports for 100LL. Just make sure that you end up at First Flight and not the fuel pumps by the terminal/restaurant building. First Flight is at the far Western end of taxiway A.

I used their brand-new self-serve fuel island. AirBP 100LL at $3.30 a gallon is the lowest in the county. Great deal!
