CAF hangar is open on Thursday and Saturday. Worth the stop if it is open -- you can see their B-25 plus other cool stuff. The fuel is 24-hour self serve on the southwest corner of the airfield.
It’s been a while since I flew into St. Charles. We arrived on 12/23/2010 around 0900 for a quick turn. Everything was locked up and not a sole around. I wasn't sure where the Commemorative building and the Self Serve were at first, but finally found them. It also took us a while to find an open door to use the bathroom. The restaurant was closed and I am not sure if it is still in business. Although not a bad experience; I am not sure we will make this a potty stop on our return trip as I am not sure the unlocked door we found to use the bathroom would be unlocked again.
